Wolverine was my favorite character as a kid and maybe why I didn’t get into the live action films after the first one. His character just felt very... off somehow. The fact that you never see him in his x-men uniform Is part of what bothers me I guess. He’s less of a spotlight character and more of a... just some guy 🤷🏻‍♂️

In Deadpool 2 Juggernaut was a lot less ridiculous. This guy looked like an idiot with an old smashed up cooking pot from his mom’s kitchen on his head by comparison. Why did he have a thick Australian accent... ? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, I agree with you about how X-Men 3 isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. There re also two things I’d like to point out:
First is Jean’s sudden power. It was explained that she survived by instinctually wrapping herself in a cocoon of telekinetic energy. However, up until then, the professor had been suppressing Jean’s true power and the Phoenix identity inside her. But since he thought she was dead, he stopped suppressing. So when she woke up after Cyclops blasted the water, there was nothing suppressing the Phoenix, and it emerged, at which point the professor couldn’t suppress the personality anymore now that it was awake.
Second is Beast’s hypocrisy of using the cure on Magneto. Despite him being against it the whole time, him finally using it showed the gray area of how sometimes it’s necessary. Humans are all but helpless against mutants, and they sought a way to protect themselves from them. Magneto was so powerful that X-Men couldn’t touch him, and so were forced to resort to the unconventional method that even Beast had a problem with because it was necessary to protect people. This time, Beast was experiencing what the helpless humans felt when up against Magneto’s power, and he understood why they would resort to such tactics. This showed that there are always gray areas.
Also, I support the ending of Rogue getting rid of her power. Despite some people viewing it as her doing it “for some boy”, she never wanted her liked her power, even long before she ever met Bobby. She wanted to be able to touch others and have physical contact, not just with her boyfriend, but with others, but wasn’t able to due to her power. Yeah, it was all well and good for Storm to be able to say that there was nothing wrong with her, but she didn’t have the same experience and restrictions of affection that Rogue did. Yes, wanting to be with her boyfriend was part of the reasons he took the cure, but she wanted it for herself. It was her decision, and she made it for herself, regardless of what others felt. As Bobby even said, it wasn’t what she wanted, but as she then said, it was what SHE wanted.

One of the things I never understood about this movie was how Angel was able to grow back his wings after cutting them off. I mean, it's not like he just got a haircut. Cutting off his wings is essentially like cutting off an arm or a leg, isn't it?

To properly set up a Phoenix film, u would have to develop & progress the plotline over "MULTIPLE FILMS". Its just too big a plot to try to cram in a two hour film. Honestly, similar to how Marvel teased Thanos over multiple films & once he debuted he got a two film (Avenger Infinity & Endgame) over 4 hour total arc. They used the other films to show who he was & set up the major players in his story so once his film started it wasn't a whole lot of figuring out who he was. That's why the Phoenix storyline has failed twice. But XMen will now be part of the MCU. If anyone can get it right, they can.

Actually you would be surprised how many fans hate Gambit and how much they rage quited on him and Rogue getting back together in the 616 comics. I mean let’s face it, Gambit is no longer that well loved. He is now on many top most hated marvel heroes lists. The comics made him more douchie and arrogant. And not the likable kind of douchie and arrogant. Plus in the cartoon, they broke up. For obvious reasons. Plus in other universes they either never meet or he dies. In Earth-979 she kills him. Cuz he betrayed the X-Men and was dumb enough to believe Mr. Sinister’s lies.

  • Morgan Young

Why do I get the feeling that Benioff and Weis looked at the Jean Grey storyline for this movie especially having a man who loved her kill her in order to save everyone and thought that it would be a good idea to use this later on if they ever get put in charge of a project with a powerful woman who has fire based powers? I mean one of them did write X-Men Origins Wolverine, that should have been a major warning sign. Also I didn’t like Storm in this movie at all since she seemed extremely clueless by saying that they didn’t the cure in front of a mutant that can literally kill people by touching them.

4:38 I remember how there was sooooo much hype for Angel joining the X-Men, and then it turned out HE WAS BARELY IN IT, DID NEXT TO NOTHING, AND HE DIDN'T EVEN JOIN THE TEAM IN THE END. But like the Critic says, the fight scenes are fun and the movie does ask the difficult questions about the ethics of a mutant willingly removing their powers. If nothing else, we were all clueless to the fact that the X-Men movies could definitely get worse from here.

  • Miss Mangas

The thing that i hated in this movie is that the X-mens freed a mutant who can erased any powers and didn't think to use him to cure Jean. They had the solution to a huge problem, could save her but apparently killing her was the only way to end the war. It was so stupid XS
Also, when Magneto abandon Mistic just because she loose her powers was really selfish of him. She literally sacrifice herself to protect him and he don't care? What a jerk!

at 10:00 what triggers jeans dorment side is that with the water and protecting the x men she needed more power then her subconcious had so she had to go deeper and tap into the dorment side of her mind.

9:34, to be fair, it may have bloated the movie by adding aliens and such. And having the Phoenix be a dual personality seems....I dunno...more grounded in the reality we’ve come to know in these movies.
As opposed to what triggered it.....was possible her use of cerebro....since her mind and powers were already starting to go a bit haywire last film.

All superhero movies are bad. It just comes with the territory. But this one I sort of liked. Still, cliches abound. Like shooting things in San Francisco. Movies are only ever set there is the director thinks he's come up with some new way of destroying th Golden Gate Bridge. So you know that you can expect that when you're in the bay area.
Also: Famke Janssen is just perfect as Jean Grey. Pity they didn't give her a little more to work with, but she's still pretty amazing. In more ways thatn one...

Lemmeguess, he's also going to be one of those people who claims Dark Phoenix is worse than Origins. Even though it's much better than Origins and this mess. In fact:
