LEGO Skateboard For Braille Skateboarding

  • Published on Oct 17, 2016
  • Thank you all for the comments directing me to Braille Skateboarding channel. I decided to try my hand at making them a second LEGO board.
This board is only LEGO bricks and epoxy resin. There are 6 baseplates, 200 grey brick, 50 blue bricks and 20oz of resin! I cannot wait to see how it hold up to the abuse.

    RZ Mask:
Using the code "PeterBrown" at checkout to get 3 pack of their F1 Filters automatically added.

Its LEGO, never LEGOS, just LEGO, always just LEGO.

also, should have used a rubber mallet or something to that degree to make sure the entirety of the plates were connected.

Curious as to why you chose epoxy over a solvent glue to stick the pieces together. Clear pvc primer(usually pure MEK, at least in these parts) or acetone would have been ideal.

By the way this may also trigger some Lego purests.
Joking aside I cringe when I see Legos glued together just cause it's a fundamentally Anti-Lego sentiment bricks are not suppose to stay together forever. But I can understand why you are doing it in this and I am so glad that Lego is always making more to replace those used in projects like this.
I really hope I didn't come off as a angry fanatic there just love my Legos. But I also enjoy your projects.

Dude u make a lot of stuff with resin and some need real support.... using epoxy on its own is a waste of time, even west system epoxy, yes that on its own is made for boating applications. However resin requires a glass weave cloth to give the epoxy strength otherwise it's just very brittle plastic!
Take this from a pro boat and model boat builder, exposure resin products will hold up far greater just by adding a few layers of glass cloth/weave! If your worried about the myth of clouding using weaves forget it... weave/cloth is glass once it gets wet it drys crystal clear and also allows for a high glass polish!
So please dude stop with the cowboy epoxy builds, you spend a lot of resin so spend that tiny bit more, make that item actually last and boom you'll be knocking out near indestructible items!

you should have soaked all the bricks in a bucket of resin to enhance the general strenth of the board and add a wide piece in the top bend to prevent it from bending while riding it.

I just watched the other video on the Braille Skateboarding channel. I have found that Fiberglass cloth (not the chop strand mat) will almost disappear when wet out. You see it in canoe and kayak construction. Epoxy and polyester resin have no structural strength without glass added. Oh and as a side note, production boats are polyester resin. The gel coat is polyester. West systems is used largely for repairs below the waterline due to superior bonding and its cell structure is more impermeable to water than polyester. I have talked to a good many people who use West System for barrier coat instead of epoxy roll on primer. Thanks for posting
