    Sleep is extremely important for your health if your body is signaling you to stay in bed LISTEN to it don't overexert yourself your body is trying to recharge. Wake up when you feel woken and non drowsy

    Productivity for the sake of productivity is only "healthy" for people that are afraid of being idle, wasting time, doing nothing, etc. What's the point of getting more free time if all you're going to do with it is be "productive"? What's the point of earning more money if you never buy anything you don't absolutely need? Either you don't realize this advice is derivative of your personality and we don't all have the same definitions of enjoyment/fulfillment. OR, you do know, and you're just marketing chintzy life advice because you know that "SEAL" will sell it to weak people.

    Almost all psychological or psychiatric literature from the APA shows that the optimal amount of sleep to be around 8 hours. Sleeping 5 hours consistently is not a good idea because it is correlated to lower life expectancy and early onset of a variety of mental disorders and, ironically enough, reduced brain efficacy. Sleeping too much can lead to the same or slightly different disorders but generally has the same effects as having too little sleep.
    Discipline is good but it's best to maintain a sleep schedule that includes 8 hour sleeping periods. If one can use the discipline to maintain optimal sleep hours and maintain it consistently, then it would end up in more productive days accompanied by better mood and other positive effects on the body and mind.

    Dude. I’m going to law school and you’re suggesting I sleep 4-5 hours. Piss off. I go to bed at 9-10 and wake up at 4:30 absent problem. Don’t suggest sleeping 4-5hrs is healthy or makes you productive. Our brain is the very thing that makes us who we are. A damaged brain makes a person useless i.e you need rest. Adequate rest at that. This robocop sounds like he injects caffeine or something.

    I used to have the extreme early-morning mindset. Through my undergrad years. Then I discovered that proper prioritization and consistency gives me more fulfillment, achievement, and a more balanced life. We need to be careful to prescribe early-morning routines as a remedy for our various productivity ills.

    The issue is NOT about running on 4/5 hours of sleep per day (most people fall into this assumption) although your body does need some hours of sleep per day you gain from just periods of rest during the day, that rest does not require you to be unconscious.

    In the field, wake up at 4:30, eat breakfast, pack vehicles, leave the house by 5:15 to 5:30, be in the field and setting up by 6.
    At home: wake up at 7:30-ish. Coffee, stare at the TV, get to the office by 9. Somehow feel more lethargic that when I'm up and ready for work by 6am

    That cheeseburger is the best thing I always cherish everytime I eat it. I told my self after my first deployment if I ever made it back home after that I would eat whatever I want and when I want till the day I die. I can honestly say I'm happy being fat. :) thank you for the service brother as I endured the same.

    I use to wake up at 5 to go the gym and workout. Ive been so miserable because I was so tired on no sleep. I barely did my homework because I was so tired to do it. Yes I use to be way more productive, I read my book (The Witcher) I was learning a new language. I was so miserable, and I never had energy. It was so hard doing that for a month with school. I feel like if I had a job it would be easier because I would have no homework but who knows.

I wake before sunrise, every day, no matter what. 99.9% of the time, I wake before my alarm clock. And NO, I WAS NEVER IN THE MILITARY.

    I ate a greasy cheeseburger with fries today at Chili’s. I really wanted that burger and I feel great now and I felt great immediately afterwards. This is the first greasy cheeseburger I have eaten in several (like six) months. I’m good with that.

    I'm not pointing a finger at or anything but, there is no such thing as productive hours at 4:30, your hormones form and work with the sun. I really wanna see what this guy is doing as a work at 4:30, probably he is half sleeping with 60IQ, filling his body with a shit load of caffeine to wake up and looking at some videos or internet until the sun shines. Don't compare your hard work with some youtube dude, please. I'm not saying you should go to bed like a chicken and neither you should wake up like an owl. Have some at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep and adjust your day accordingly. That's it.

    Last 1/2 year I wake up at 6:30-6:45 don't need any alarms. Just over your day till 10:30-11PM and you don't need any alarms. It's good idea to wake up earlier - I have more time I can do much more. Morning time it's a good time for sport & work. Just do right planning of your day , better with paper.

    It doesn't seem productive to me to make little tiles to try to figure out how to have more productive time. And, I don't care to have the hyper-productivity of a navy seal. I go to sleep around 4am and sleep until 11am or noon. I like the night just like other people like the morning. I get my work done, I make plenty of money, I play music, I spend time with my son, and sometimes I sit an watch youtube videos and don't produce anything and I feel totally fine about that. There's nothing wrong with sleeping until you've had enough sleep and sometimes just doing shit that's not productive but relaxing.

    Im so undisciplined that I have to wake up earlier than everyone else so I don't talk to them. But what time do you go to bed? If you went to bed early won't you check the missed text messages and what happened on social media? No? You don't care what happened? Then just put your phone on DND during normal hours and sleep like a normal person.

    Night owl here. I’m more disciplined without an alarm clock. With little or no caffeine, a full night’s rest, I feel like a god. I accomplish more. No time wasted. Discipline manifests in many forms.
