    Commiting an Offside Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
    interfering with play
    interfering with an opponent
gaining an advantage by being in that position

The two goals of Son were offside!

Are they experts?? They dont even know the easiest football rules. If it hits the hand its not always disallowed! You cant cut your arm off. If there is no movement towards the ball and they are in a natural position its a regular goal.
Apart of that no matter from which angle you look, you cant say for sure if it brushes LLorentes elbow or not or if it brushes Laportes hands or not. These "experts" should start reading the actual rule book instead of hyping up each others bro scince.

Far out. Not only has the sport lost its way with rotten to the core corrupt bodies like the F.A., UEFA and FIFA overseeing the sport, while these cxxx clubs pay lip service to so-called fair play regulations, but now the 'independent' media are falling over themselves to lick their arxxs/anusxx. Pigmy brains and ethics aren't such strange bedfellows after all, when ESPN are in town, are they Mr. Burley? Lickspittle might be a term unfamiliar to you, but there again, often the thing that most defines us, eludes us. Like I'd say the Mendes Old Trafford 'goal' defines the abject (Sir) Ferguson, just as your gibberish here defines you.

Liverpool is the favorite, at least for me to win the UCL and EPL. They are a more rounded team than Barca and even Man City. However, Barca and front line offensively when the go forward is very clinical and witty. This should be a cause and concern for them when they play each other.

NO MORE BAD CALLS! Here is the solution...
We have cameras everywhere and are slowly implementing the VAR. BUT WHY SLOWLY? Why even make the ref on the field the head official?
The best way to ref elite sports now is to have the main officials in the VIDEO REVIEW box. Only have the official on the field as a messenger!! That way, every single call can be monitored and called correctly. They would have the equipment available to view replays at slow motion from the best angle only seconds after they happen. Allowing play to continue only to message down to the field official when they know for certain to stop play and award a free kick/penalty etc.
    PROBLEM SOLVED.

  • John H
    John H Month ago

Handball is the most antiquated rule going. Make it simple. It can hit your hand anytime as long as you have your hands within your body area and as long as you make no obvious effort to play the ball with your hand. Players not being able to cover their face for free kicks and getting penalised for stupid stuff is daft.
If Llorentes arm wasn't there, the ball still hits his side and goes in. There's no justification to rule out that goal.

Listen it shaved slightly on the elbow it did not then move to the hip it would have hit the hip anyway, no way was that hand ball follow the movement of the ball it doesn't deviate, a great game.

interesting.....these pundits except for shaka used to criticize pep in the past and now they are so much in love with him..City won the game but lost the battle.so get over it. I 'm a pep fan and City lost due to the following reason: 1) first leg, aguero should have scored. (2) pep should have played KDB and Sane in the first leg from the start (3) mendy isnt right to play for now and he didnt offer any thing. pep should have played laporte as left back just like he did against arsenal. (4) the game is a pacey game and not a strength game, pep should have not played kompany..otamendi or stones would have sufficed..(5) at 4-2, he should have managed the game better.

His arm didn't redirect the ball in any way ie without the hand the ball would move towards the goal 3. His arm was not moved to redirect the ball. Clear goal. Dumb pundits

The point is even the pundits are new to the VAR and UEFA rules. So no point having discussions and using mind blowing words to describe it. FYI as per the UEFA rules if the arm is inside the silhouette of the body it is not ruled as a hand ball. Unlike kempembe whose arm, elbow to be precise was outside and he was looking away. Accept it or not. The rules are not written before every game. The competition is too big for that kind of circus regulations. Few of the world's biggest club owners are involved and we can be sure, thay it's not inconsistent. And at least it is being reviewed! In the past clubs have won and knocked out because the linesmen and refs turned blind!
