Are these handlebars safe with those bolts? I’ve got mine yesterday & I’m a bit hesitant cause I’ve got somewhat of an aggressive riding style..
What made you choose the San Diego over the lucky 13's?
I'm a tall dude with long arms. The San diegos are borderline too close to my body. Lucky 13s have the bend back that I dont need
Good shit birdman, Im glad you didnt have any issues running your wires, new Tank badges look much better Gloss an matte have a soft spot in my heart too. Its just a great combo , ie my helmet,my bike, my truck. Ya I have a problem.
Hey guy, guess your too cool to reply back about your incorrect bushing install with the stacked caps from your old bushings. Was just looking out for you. Man up son and dont be so embarrassed! Your welcome btw ;)
Hey bro, didnt here back from you.. did you check into it???
Hey bro, I appreciate and like your vids! Quick question- why did you reuse the old rubber bushing chrome silver cap washers stacked on top/bottom of your LD black anodized poly bushings?
+Bike N' Bird Dude..why are you blowing off my question? It's a very legit question I'm asking you...you understand what I'm asking right? Please post back or message me. Not sure how to send you a private message on RU-clip.
+Bike N' Bird in aggreance with you. However the LD poly bushings your using have the black anodized aluminum?/steel? caps already. Hence them being black anodized. Normal hd rubber bushings and cheaper poly bushings use the center sleeve between the bushing and then the two caps one on top and one on bottom. The better polyurethane bushings like harley davidson polyurethane, luckyDave's, alloy art gooden tight.. use a design with the top cap built into half the sleeve for top and bottom. Check into it bro.
It's my understanding that when replacing any bushing (talking motorcycle or not) that you always keep the outer washer caps in order to keep whatever you're bolting into it from digging into the bushing itself.
Hey man how tall are you? I just bought some 14" lucky Dave's sense they were on sale for black Friday. I'm 5'10 and just wondering I should go for the 12" instead. Any input is greatly appreciated!
What's the tune @ 6:00
How did you get sponsors!?!?! Shoot I'd like to be sponsored....I live in ft worth and have a 15 dyna....love the vids
Also looking for a way to send a pic of my bike to you
I could also wear their brand, pass out stickers, pass on information about them and their products. Any aspect of promotion on my part that I can.
Bike N' Bird I offer more exposure for their products, and potentially creating more consumers....aswell as more diversified opinions and knowledge of their products.
What do you have to offer the sponsors in return?
6:44 lol
ok the tank decals are nice!!!!
Any chance u know the clutch and throttle cables lengths needed
They're stock
This is crazy, I'm installing these same bars today Sept. 11, 2018 right b4 a hurricane. Exact same day one year later same exact situation.
Did you reinstall the metal sleeve in the new bushings when putting on the San Diego bars?
How long did it take to do the handlebar install?
About 2 hours including filming time
very helpful. thanks man. didn't realise that someone can put a piece of his heart to mechanic stuff
that intro song is awesome. the link is taking me to something different. what is it ?
Hello, I will be purchasing the 12" bars however I don't know what size cable to get, can you help ? A link, model number or website would be appreciated. FYI I have a 2017 Fat Bob with ABS front dual disc breaks. Thank you
You have great taste man! Absolutely love the look of this bike!
are polyurethane bushings a must or I can keep the originals?
they're not a MUST, but for the low cost, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting them.
Here thanks to John Maxwell-Love the build series! Looking forward to working my way through all your videos. Thanks for putting the time in and creating a great channel.
Where did you order your tank decal? Ore can you send me the design?
Great job. Your bike looks great
whats your seat?
Hey man, I'm enjoying the build series, but what song is that in the intro. You got the link to RayBurger but I cant find it..
Where can I get the black wrap
Shit I’m having trouble wiring my bars pain in the dick lol I’ve done it a million times but these are really giving me a problem
Were is your how to videos located at?
Where did you find that vinyl tank decal?
May I ask where you got the flat black tank graphic I'm interested in getting one myself?
That’s why you torque to spec...... you cranked on it like a axle nut dude.. I guess you have to learn the hard way...
Absolutely love this bike!
Thanks man!
I know it’s been a while since u did this video I’ve been following u for a while and u inspire me great stuff man anyway I’m gonna be making a purchase on the San Diego bars I’m up in the air between the 12” or 14” I’m 5’10” I want my arms level with my shoulders or slightly below I currently have 12” frisco bars on my ‘17 street bob btw I pulled the trigger on the lucky Dave’s seat can u help me out here
I cringed when you took a scraper to the tank, but it looks good. Those bars are sick.
Whats the music from 14:00-15:57?
Mr bike and bird I got the fxdb as well 2017 was there any issues with the 14 inch bar?? As far as the cables being able to fit with stock cables? And do you have to undo the throttle cable for new grips? Great video! That's a 14 inch bar right?
How tall are you? Trying to decide if a Dyna with those bars would look goofy.
Bird hey man love the series BTW big fan of the channel I am thinking about putting lucky Dave's 14ich San Diego bars on my 06 Dyna Street Bob I wanted to know did you have to extend your lines to install the bars? Also how tall are you and how much do you weigh the reason I ask is because I'm 6.4 240 pounds and want to know of the bars are going to be comfortable.
This vid was awesome +1 SUB I was getting excited for you watching this video Keep on keepin on man
.......barf lol
Just like every other sons of anarchy fan girl..
What were the torque specs for the LD bars?
You digging the 1/4 turn throttle? If I’m going to order your phone mount you told me about I may as well order the throttle
What did you us besides a plastic scrapper to remove the badge? You and I have the same FXDB and I want mine off as well
Bike N' Bird awesome. Thanks for the response on this and your phone mount!!
+Matt Drake goo gone
How do i get material to wrap gas cap n ugly chrome on left side of cap with gauge? OmG... it looks so simple how you accomplished.
+Paul Son link in description
I know I'm super late watching this video but....fu###n amazingly beautiful!
Where did you get the decal on the tank? I want that!!!
+David Karl You dont lol. Very heavily trademarked and highly illegal to sell.
Bike N' Bird how do I get one from you? Haha
+David Karl made it myself
+1 rip dyna 1991/2017
Dude, vinyl wrapping the gauge and gas cap is a great idea. Looks legit on the video and way better than dropping a few hundo on some black ones. SD bars look great man. Were the control cables and wiring stock when you started? I'm replacing the stock drag bars on my Fat Bob with T bars and not sure how high I can get away with before having to dig into extending cables and wires.
Great videos man!
For changing your bars .... did you not need longer cables, clutch, throttle?
what size bars are they
+Carlos Morales 14
I’m looking to replace my bars, but not sure what size I should get. It appears like we are similar builds. I’m 5’10”. How tall are you?
+Curtis Smith im 6'2. I would recommend the 14s
where did you get the gloss black mirrors?
+robert welenc ah ok sorry, yea that's stock on the 883
defiantly watched the video man. i've been enjoying the whole dyna build series. you took the gloss mirrors off your sportster though and i didnt catch where you said you got those from. unless they came stock on the sporty...
+robert welenc so im all down for helping people, but if you're not even going to wacth the video before asking questions... why...
Hey Bird, saw exhaust video. What did you do with the stock exhaust? Is it for sale?
+Catherine Rose actually I still have the stock headers and mufflers just no heat sheilds or o2 sensors
+Catherine Rose it sold very shortly after it came off
How have your gas cap decals held up?
I got some of that decal to give it a try... Any tips?
Bike N' Bird , well I did it. Turned out great, caps, horn cover and headlight trim... Thanks again for the video. I never would have done it.
+Jordan Bills Still going strong. Take your time and do it right
Tank looks badass
Everything but that handlebar bag.
Nice work man. Looks kick ass!
I have a 2016 Dyna street Bob. Would the stock wires work for the 14inch bars?
Still have plenty of cable wire after installing or was it close?
+Brett Bowers Yessir. All cables and wires in this video are stock
Where did you get the black wrap? was
+Terry Poff amazon. Link in description
Great bike! Can you tell me are these 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 bars ? Thanks.
+Roman Nichel 1.25
Were those stock cables on the last bars? If so did they work with those bars?
+Anthony Gomez yes everything is stock
I am seriously impressed with your Channel. The step by step aspect that you use is very useful. Great work on the Dyna and I will be checking out your other videos. Scott
Thanks man welcome to the channel!
Did you have to get any extensions for any cables or the harness
+Rob D nope
Nice trans am bird's. Harley decals look good
Sweet build! What kind of vinyl was that? I use orocal and mine does not seem to have that much flex.
Bike N' Bird thank you so much! I generally use the 651 as well and can never do anything like that. I will check out the type you suggested. Love your videos. Thanks again!
+Nicholas Alger thanks man! Its linked in the description. Oracal is just a brand. They make a BUNCH of different types of vinyl. This stuff I believe is the 971 RA which is designed for wrapping. I also use their 651 for decals which is a COMPLETELY different vinyl.
Fuckin gorgeous man! Great camera work too. Love the channel. Keep it up.
+Steve Cramer thanks bud appreciate it!
where your original bars 12"? with 2" risers? is that why you went with 14" bars?
+gotfight123 no they're 10 with 2 inch risers. I went 14 because that's where I wanted them
I thought you were crazy removing the badge, but the finished product is great looking. Nice job! RSMF
+Len Frame lol that's what everyone says
In your opinion which is more comfortable to ride with the apes ? Or the z bars ?
The ones on my dyna for sure. Can't remember the name of them though
Bike N' Bird also I am wondering out of the biltwell grips which have been your favorite so far ??
+The Ryan8er oh z bars hands down
So do you not need to use any glue or any adhesive on the new grips ? And do you still like the g2 quick turn ?
+The Ryan8er no sir I never use glue.
The g2 is GREAT for high gear highway rides and aggressive twisties. I have come to realize that in lower gears like going through towns and stuff that I do kinda have to balance throttle and clutch to keep it from being super jumpy
Stock cables fit with 14 inch Tbars. It’s not to tight with turns?
I’m thinking of getting West cost t’s on my dyna.
Bike N' Bird nice, thanks for responding bro. Safe riding! Cheers
+Quez Visions not tight at all. But you also have to be aware of the width of the bars. Idk if the west coast t bars are wider or not
That dark decal looks sic ...
I just figured out what difference I see between you and Blockhead, and why I like each channel for different reasons. Your build series seem to impress me with a better "story" behind the build. The long process of building the bike. The entire long day of each step.
Whereas Blockhead has his How-To video's that eventually give you a build, but give much greater detail on the "how to" for every pull of the wire, every difficult reach of each and every bolt, step by step. Both great ... for different reasons. Still like your reviews the best of all the motovloggers on RU-clip. About as good as reviews as Lenny's over at RevZ ...
(Thumbs up, as with all your vids). Speaking of ..... ..... how this channel only has 6.3K subscribers, and not 63,000 or 630,000 is absolutely beyond me. Good grief ... this is an actual MOTOVLOGGING channel, rather than all the other garbage that comes out that is *_not_* motorcycle related in other channels. You and Blockhead are the only two I can stick with.
Cool edit, I sub'd!
Thanks man welcome to the channel!
That was a really cool video , I really liked the vinyl wrap I think I'm going to do that on my street bob. Thanks!
Awesome video man! Made me sub :) The matte black decals on the shiny tank fit really well
If you can tell me what the last song before the outro is, starting at 14:00, that would be great.
Now off to binge watch your vids
No problem man, that you even looked for the song already says a thousand words! I fell in love with motorcycles, in particular Harleys but no hate on other brands because two wheels are two wheels, so the binging isn't a chore lol
Keep up the good work you should definitely be one of the bigger channels out there!
+80s_Homer hey man I looked for a good 30 minutes for my project files for this video so I could get you the name of that song but unfortunately I was unsuccessful. Welcome to the channel though! You've got plenty to binge on lol
Hi there. Great video. Do those tbars have you reaching more or is the pull back decent? Looking to swap my mini apes out but worry about reaching to far. Thanks
With these I actually dont even lock my elbows unless I lean back. But then again i'm tall as well with long ass arms. If you're shorter they also make whats called the lucky 13 bar which has a few inches of pull back built into the bars
Informative vid mate, enjoyed it, LOVE the tank decals .gonna change my bars Soon and this helped 👍👍
+FatBoy740 that decal is so perfect lol. I honestly thought I might hate it
those tank decals turned out really nice!!
That hd decal looks sweet!! Love the videos dude, keep it coming 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video. Loving this build so far. Can you post links to the songs used in this one (specifically the 1st timelapse)? Shazam is being an ass and not giving me and reaulta.
Lucky!!!! when i did my lucky 13 bars on the fat bob , i had to buy street bob throttle and return cables, street bob clutch cable, and i had to pick up a set of extended brake lines form drag specialties !!! what a pain in the ass!!! i would of much rather did your install lol they came out dope af.... I keep on trying to get get BlockHead to do some narrow mx T-bars but he wants nothing to do with them .. meh... I kind of want him to ride my bike on one of the group rides so that he can really get a feel for them .... LuckyDaves makes the best bars in my opinion hands down !!!! Dude look in to the joker machine throttle tube !!! dope af... stay away from the Biltwell Whiskey throttle , i hear bad things....
I freakin love my bars. Agree with you 100% that lucky daves makes the best bars. I'm liking the g2 throttle so far. A little more side to side play than I would like but I can fix that.
I have to catch up on your awesome videos. Hurricane Irma had all my attention.
Love the bars, I have the same ones. You actually didn't have to mess with the tank at all to get to the wiring. Anyways congrats and the bike is looking bad ass!
Bird, here's a tip for installing new grips, spray the inside of the grips with a quick spray of hairspray. They will slide in easier and dry in a few minutes giving you a nice grip.
+RubenAlonzo that's exactly what I did...
love ya videos bro ,excellent! all the way from new zealand J W
Cool vid! Really nice changes and the flat black logo is awesome.
+Lake Geneva48 thanks man!
She is looking great. Great job so far!
But of course! Long Live the Ginger Beard!! :)
Orion Marra You mean me, right!? 😃
+Orion Marra thank you sir"
looking good! I really like the tank decals you did, they break up the shine but are not overly distracting
+Stinky Pete that was the goal!
Been watching all your videos from day one, getting my license on the 23rd of this month, catcha next ride season in good ole SAN ANTONE !🤘🏻
+Ashton Burgess hell yeah man good luck!
Feel free to send me those old bars!
+FRESHx913x I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with them
Hey broski, I can't find the white flags that you have on your bike on your ebay page.
looks amazing yo!!!! 👍👍
+Jonathan Rangel thanks bud!
Bike look great.
+Art Hasty thanks man!
Why does Donny always hit the thumbs down button on your videos,,
+stutter03 hahaha have you not seen our group rides? XD I could name a few reasons
Bike looks awesome!
+RU-clip Watcher thanks man appreciate it!
Can I make a request to have a video that shows how to get to the connectors for the cables? I can't seem to find them on my 14 fxdb and I'm 90% sure that they 17 is the exact same. Also, I bought some of your decals from your eBay store and love them. I know you may have issues selling Harley stickers on eBay for copyright issues, would you be willing to make and sell them otherwise? LMK!
+David Ferris no prob! Yeah just raise the tank up and you'll see a tab on each side of the backbone that you push through
No worries on the decals. Completely understandable. Thanks for the heads up on the plastic plate. I just got my new bars today and am going to try and get them on soon. Keep up the good work though man!
+David Ferris there's a plastic plate that you have to get out (its a bitch)
And I'm sorry but I can't. I've already been in too much copyright trouble in the past so I'm kinda on my last chance legal wise
Love the build series. Great choice on the tank graphics. Not a fan of the electronic tweeker music lol but to each thier own. Great video none the less!
Bike N' Bird true that sir ;)
+FreightTrain ill never please everyone
didn't like the bars but when you sat on it , I like them now ..
+Will the thrill they feel and handle amazing!
