Well, after weeks of work and troubleshooting, the fender conversion from my stock FXDF, to the chopped FXDWG, is complete. Listed below are the H-D part #'s, as well as descriptions of other parts I needed to complete this mod.
    Gloss black rear fender - H-D part # - 60519-10DH
    Fender support cover RH/LH - H-D part # - 59461-10/59459-10
    Spacer for support cover (x2) - H-D part # - 11896
    Inner support bracket (x2) - 60936-10
    LED edge light kit - H-D part # - 73416-11
    TC Bros side mount license plate - sku # - 107-0006 - amzn.to/2IQueBM
    TC Bros shock mount bracket - sku # - LP109UN -
    amzn.to/2A5hq7u
Custom Dynamics LED license plate bolts - amzn.to/2QET6Pw
I used 16 gauge wire for splicing the turn signals and license plate bolt lights to the stock wiring harnesses. I also used a soldering iron, and solder to do the splicing. I also protected the splices with heat shrink.

I'm not sure. Have you tried the Parts Dept at your dealer? I know they can be less than helpful sometimes, but worth a shot. Good luck! 🤓👍

Hi, that another year of cover support i can use?
Can use the Fat Bob support?

@Lisandro Remondino I don't have the bike any more, so unfortunately, I couldn't tell you. Sorry. 🤓

    • Lisandro Remondino

@that one guy 19" long support, fits ok?

    • that one guy
that one guy  4 months ago

@Lisandro Remondino I couldn't tell you, for sure, what years the support covers would work on. I ordered the support for the 2013 Wide Glide (the H-D part numbers are listed in the description) and they fit perfectly. You'll have to buy new turn signal standoffs if you want those to fit perfectly (I just dealt with mine not fitting exactly right) with the new Wide Glide support covers.

What part are you specifically talking about? I do have some of the old parts still kicking around, so let me know.

Check the description for the parts list. Good luck with your bike. It's a big job, but I really loved the end result!

Hey loved the video.. ...i'm about to do this mod.. just waiting for inner strut brackets..I talked to another guy that did this mod and he's not getting a open switch light on his bike... did you ever figure out what's causing that? He is also using the daytime running lights on his.. one more question did you use your factory turn signal in the rear? I heard the little extenders are bigger than the wideglide so you have to replace them too

    • that one guy
that one guy  7 months ago

The fender brake light is the H-D LED Edge light kit listed in the description. If you can get everything to work and not have the indicator come on, that would be ideal. I tried the load resistor, but I couldn't get anything to work. I'll just say, if you know what you need to do, go for it and see if it works. Looking forward to hearing how it goes! :D

    • Michael D
      Michael D 7 months ago

@that one guy ....you used the chopped fender brake light? Sounds like you might need a load resistor ... hannums told me there was no harness for that application and I was better off using the board on the fatbob and just extending the wires...

    • that one guy
that one guy  7 months ago

It was the harness under the seat. It had to be swapped out. The H-D part # on the work order was 70025-11. I used the factory turn signals, but the stand-offs were slightly larger, and never quite fit correctly, but I made them work. Good luck, and let me know how it goes! :D

Like to see it with a lowrider fendercuz the fronts so big and wide and the back fender seems so small it looks good and odd at the same time lol i think it would look really good with the low rider fender

I think the Lowrider fender would look good, as well, but I prefer the chopped look.

Do you know if a 2013 Fat Bob rear fender will fit on a 2017 Wide Glide?

    • jim jim
      jim jim 11 months ago

Thanks, I called my local HD parts department. They said it probably wouldn't fit. But he wasn't sure.

    • that one guy
that one guy  11 months ago

I think if you check on the Harley website and the parts for the 2013 Wide Glide universally fit on a 2017, you should be good. I'd check with your dealer to be sure, though. A lot of times you can chat online on their website, and you don't have to call, or go in.

Great job on the fender mod and video production. I just picked up a 2013 Fat Bob and want to order the parts from your list. Did you just use your local HD dealer? Can you provide the source for the parts list? There’s another guy on RU-clip that’s selling a complete unpainted bolt on kit for $975 with plug and play light kit. Would you have considered this option if you could do it all over again? His light kit has an integrated light bar that has signal flashers in the same unit. Thanks for your input and great video(s). Subscriber for life. Ride on!

    • that one guy
that one guy  Year ago +1

You can definitely use your local H-D dealer, with the part #'s I provided. I used Surdyke Harley (now Gold Star Harley), because they have a discount for all their parts online.
In hindsight, I don't think I would have done much differently. I really wanted to do it all myself, not because I don't trust anyone else, but it was a way to really get to know my motorcycle, and I'm one of those people who enjoy the sense of satisfaction after finishing something like this.
I really appreciate the sub! Ride safe!

What was the total price for the fender swap?

    • that one guy
      that one guy  Year ago

It was around $650-700. That's including the FXDLS solo saddle. I was really patient in making sure I found good prices for all of the pieces, too, so if you just wanted to do this without deal searching, it'd probably be closer to $1,000.

Looks great! I never cared for the duck bill rear fender. I had a super glide custom and relocated the rear turn signals they were a pain in the butt!

Yeah, wiring has to be my least favorite thing about doing mods. However, it also feels like a huge victory when everything works! :)

Yeah, I was telling another person that the stock fender started to grow on me, but I've had this vision of the chopped fender in my mind since I bought the bike, and am happy with the result. Thanks for watching and take care!

  • TzeiEm

Looks so much better than the stock fender. The stock fender is maybe the main thing that's keeping me from buying this bike. I wish they came stock with that bobbed fender, since I don't have a work space or the mechanical skills to do such a modification myself :)

    • that one guy
      that one guy  Year ago

The stock fender is an acquired taste, I think. It started to grow on me, but I was still all-in for this mod. If you end up getting a FXDF and decide to make the change, let me know how it goes, or if you have any questions!

Congrats on seeing this mod thru to the end. Bike looks so much better (in my opinion) with the wide glide fender. That's cool you swapped to the Low Rider S seat. Looks good on there. How is the comfort level, compared to the stock one? Please let us know how you fix the warning light issue. Thanks for filming this mod & sharing with us. Enjoy !!
