    • Audrey Laureys
Audrey Laureys 18 days ago +1

@Ok girl Euh bah pourquoi pas yes, we are split in two parts with in the middle brussel. Walonie - French speaking part (Not exactly the same as french in France more a dialect) and Flanders - the dutch speaking part. Walonie also is a lot greener, they have the ardennes, while the dutch part has the sea.

    • Audrey Laureys
Audrey Laureys 18 days ago +5

In Belgium we speak mainly dutch (60% of our population has dutch/Nederlands as their mother language), we also have a smaller german speaking part and in Brussels, our capital, it's a french/dutch mix.

    - First of all: the fries are called 'French' because of the chopping style
    - Second of all: DUTCH is the most spoken language in Belgium
    - Third of all: fries have always been Belgian and we did win the UNESCO debate
Where the *** did you guys do your research? You stupid or what? Kenneth 100% deserved that point. Mess with the fries and you piss off Belgians 🇧🇪😤

    • Generic snacks
      Generic snacks 19 days ago

Idril Telrúnya Actually French fries are called french fires because back in the 1700s when Benjamin Franklin was the U.S. ambassador to France, he tried French fries and called them “potatoes fried in the French way” and eventually that became French fries.
