I have mixed opinions about this vid.
You can be passionate about many things. I've realized recently that there's a lot of things I want to do. I've had several passions for a long time, but I've stopped asking myself which one I love more.
Trying new things is a great way to discover passions. Both in work and in your freetime.
Success doesn't always create more passion and sometimes passion comes first. I started out passionate about learning to play bass, got good and then lost my passion.
    Passion can be lost.
Sometimes it is because doing one thing only becomes boring.
And sometimes you're just not getting anywhere with it.
Earning money is a perfectly valid reason to get a job.
Passion won't always lead to money, sadly. But sometimes they do. It's unlikely that you'll be an artist but a love for languages could lead to a translation job.
Some people out there really do have one main passion. They do the same thing almost everyday.

Life's a like a fight, a boxing match up where in u wanna throw that right hand but u just can't wait to do that, u do have to keep jabbing till u get an opening. If u do it with out the right opening u will be caught with an counter left hook.
Passion or opportunity is not the only thing or route to success, success is a by product of many things a combination of right choices decisions hard work smartness and a stamp of God which people call luck.
Seen people call it their passion After they win and they truly love it also seen people who lost their life following their passion.
Passions like going for the glory shot, seams well when u pull it off or u look like a tool.

I’m in that stage of not knowing my passion and I’ve been waiting for a long time. Perhaps I’ll try to limit myself with the singular passion. Yet the job I’m doing now to get paid and live a life doesn’t satisfy me. I don’t hate it but it’s just not fulfilling. It’s not that simple to just do whatever and that’s my puzzle to solve.

i have been in the same situation for a long time. the situation when you don't move or do anything if there is different paths ahead of you and you just want to acknowledge every path. in this situation your wording fits very well "you don't create your life 1st and then live it, you create it by living it" ❤️

  • Ramesh Iyer

IMO Terri is confusing 'passion' with 'interest'. Most people do have a passion, which stays for life, but may have interests changing from time to time, perhaps with changing circumstances. Also, I have observed that people who discover their passion early in life, tend to nurture it and go on to make a successful career out of it. There are scores of professional artists, singers, athletes, painters, actors (starting as child actors), etc who have pursued a single passion throughout their life, and have done well for themselves. Perhaps, what Terri meant in her talk is for people to not wait to discover their passion n pursue whatever comes their way, to put food on their table n to pay their bills. This is a very debatable view, as it has both pros n cons. I've known people wait years, often jobless, to get that one opportunity to pursue their passion, which eventually paid off n enabled them to succeed in converting their passion into a successful profession. I've also come across people who've taken up some job just to earn their living, getting lost in it, forgetting their passion n regretting about it later in life. Very few lucky folks get to identify, nurture, n pursue their passion as their profession. So yes, I do believe that one must have some passion in life, to lead a fulfilling life.

I don't think people in the creative field would agree with her speech. She just claims she is not so much of a passionate person but that doesn't mean passionate people shouldn't look out and pursue their passions. Her speech just talks for herself and those who are alike but not everyone.
