"You actually want to avoid using oil in marinades. Meat is about 80% water and oil doesnt actually penetrate the flesh whereas something like salt will" - Tasty in 2017: ru-clip.com/video/-Wwv_5QBwfs/video.html
Did oil start penetrating chicken in the last 2 years?

I use buttermilk to marinade chicken.Or maybe it's better to describe it as more tenderizing than marinade which implies flavors.

When they cut into the chicken at the end. It definitely did not look juicy 😕

Cheryl Flores I'm gonna do the one in the video today, I don't like the flavor of olive oil all that well and the marinade just mainly tastes like olives and lemon so we'll see lmao

    • Cheryl Flores
      Cheryl Flores Month ago

` ʼ yes actually. I made chicken soup a long time ago and it was so delicious but I forgot what I did to get the chicken so tender. But I plan to make it today. The chicken has been marinating so I expect it to be delicioso

    • ` ʼ
      ` ʼ Month ago

Cheryl Flores Did you end up finding a good way to prepare chicken?

    • Cheryl Flores
      Cheryl Flores Month ago

` ʼ lol, it sounds like you’ve never had juicy chicken. Chicken can be juicy and thoroughly cooked. I’ve had that plenty of times. I was expecting when she cut into the chicken to see juice flow out of it while still being cooked thoroughly. That’s why I watched the video, I was expecting a nice marinade to make the chicken juicy with flavor

    • ` ʼ
      ` ʼ Month ago

Cheryl Flores so you'd prefer raw chicken
this isn't some steak idk what you're expecting of chicken

    My go to spice blend:
    Salt
    Pepper
    Cajun
    Garlic Powder
    Oregano
    Italian Seasoning
    Parsley Flakes
    *Optional: Paprika
Mix all of these with Buttermilk or Yogurt and let your chicken sit for atleast 2-3 hours.
You can adjust depending on your spice tolerance.

Sorry, I have to disagree on 4 hours being the maximum to absorb flavor. I do at least 24 hours, and if I go 48 hours, it's a noticeable difference. I'd go 4 hours as minimum.

For Indian style friend chicken. My mum adds chilli powder, tumeric powder, salt and pepper , blended garlic and blended ginger too .
Note it's blended coz when my siblings and I were younger we refused to eat the actual vegetable so she blended up garlic and ginger

This is way too easy.. and dry with no taste.
My way of marinate a chicken are:
    1. Salt, black pepper, white pepper, chilli flakes, chilli powder & half spoon of cinnamon.
    2. Coat it with BBQ sauce or black pepper sauce (either 2, don't mix both BBQ & black pepper sauce, i always like black pepper), chilli sauce, oyster sauce & sweet soy sauce.
    3. Wait for 3-4 hours.
    4. Cook it in an oven or pan.
    Wallaah and it's ready!
Great chicken, great company and of course, yummy tummy.
p/s - no one got hospitallized after they had my chicken. Only a few had a bad poopoo & they're the one who are so weak to eat a little hot & spicy chicken, didn't blamed them tho :P

Or skip all this and marinate in a salad dressing. Italian dressing is my favorite thing to marinate in and then grill, best chicken ever. Definitely marinate for hours 30mins isn't worth it at all, let it marinate!
