In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

    touching story, and very encouraging,
my only doubt is if everyone did so the world would be better?
how many private planes would carry husbands of parturants around?
unfortunately the speech does not concern equality for everyone,
but only for those who succeed, in this way it works.
Certainly it is good to push the best,
and the point of not being afraid is the highest and praiseworthy,
because having it is just a mistake cultivated badly in the psyche,
and can only do harm to themselves and to others, especially useless,
it seems as if the legacy of fear that saves the prehistoric man from the beasts,
returns transmuted but with unscathed strength in fragmented anxieties for things that basically do not kill us,
but they are experienced as if the wolves were at our door.
how the world works is another story.
    Thanks!

Very inspiring speech, thank you 🙏. When I listen to such people I understand the holy Quran more than when listening to the explanation of the Moslem scholars. Because when God sent Adam and ave down to earth , he told them , “ those who follow my guidance, should have no fear or sadness “. This is what we neeed on earth to live happy,: no fear about the future and no regret or remorse about the past, by being thankful and living now.

As an Arab Palestinian, who lives in the Middle East, i need to put extra effort to overcome fears, people around me are fearful to step one step forward. People here fear from uncertainty, unpredictable future, and of becoming jobless, i rarely see someone takes risks. Or doing things audaciously,

Thank you. I enjoyed the talk very much. By the way, physiology has told us that fear is controlled by amygdala, a region in the limbic system in our brain. From the evolution point of view, the brain limbic system is a very old region. If you hold your fist, with your thumb buried inside other four fingers, your fist is like your brain and the thumb is like the limbic system, buried inside (underneath) the brain. When a person is in love, his/her amygdala will shut down. Maybe we can turn it around: we shut down our amygdala intentionally and maybe we will look at the world around us with much more love feeling. (BTW, fear itself has certain positive value: it forces us to learn from our mistakes. But that is a different topic.)

Well.. a pretty decent talk until he cited Mandela as being an innocent man jailed for no valid reason. He was a leader of the African National Congress (ANC), an organization designated a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department and many other governments. He helped plan a bombing in which innocent civilians were killed. He was a co-founder of the ANC’s Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation), a militant terrorist group. He was tried and convicted for terrorist and subversive activities. He was a high-level member of the SACP (South Africa Communist Party). ANC and its terrorist arm, Umkhonto we Sizwe.

Fear is one of the most crippling emotions and i just attracted this speech from the title " Beautiful minds are free from fear". This title itself describes us many meaning. The speech by Mr. Robert Grant is very very useful to overcome fear and stress. The example used to deliver the message is excellent. We can surely free of fear when we listen this man's speech. I think he faced a lot of things about fear :-)) And Yes ofcourse we can overcome fear with intentional choice. The points are very much clear and useful for us and last I'm going to follow those worthful words given by our sir!! Thank for this speech sir.

Exactly. Anxiety always involves things that are going to happen at some time other than now. If you can completely stop yourself from thinking about a time other than now, you will be unable to feel fear, and you will experience eternity in a moment.

The story in the beginning was my beginning to see what kind of person this is.
Who sitting in the bar, the day their child suppose to be born ?
he probably had enough money already to support hes child and wife, as they flying air plane.
So why even consider this decision ? Greed folks, greed.
Can't even think the fear the mother had going threw it alone....Coming last second ? I could see this dad, coming on the graduation for hes child but not be there rest of the days when the first kiss or need helps with homework.
Well, i guess money will buy away the guilt = )
