Whether you are intermittent fasting, on an extended fast, or keto fasting this video will show you the simple stress free way to break your fast safely for continued weight loss and fat loss.

    A new topic that a lot of people have questions on is fasting, and an especially common question is how to break your fast. Now a lot of fitness experts and gurus have swooped in on this topic and they've started answering this question in some pretty misleading ways, and I gotta say i hate it when things are overcomplicated. So in today's video I'd like to simplify this question and give you the bottom line truth so you know exactly what to do and what not to do when breaking your fast. And it''s a lot easier than you may think. First let's all agree that fasting is supposed to give you more freedom and flexibility with your diet. So going over the top and obsessing over the precise amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, your insulin levels, your salt intake, what foods your allowed to eat, what your not allowed to eat, having to drink bone broth, mct oil, apple cider vinegar all that kind of stuff like that kills the whole premise of fasting. It's supposed to be a stress free way of eating. Also one big mistake that a lot of people make when fasting is that they continue to try to calorie restrict after their fast is over, and I'm shocked to see some experts advocating for that as well. So I have news for you guys and hopefully some of these experts are listening if you haven't already heard your willpower is a finite resource. Meaning you will run out of willpower, & fasting for a portion of the day already takes a substantial amount of your willpower. People that continue to be super restrictive & stressed out after they break their fast have a higher likelihood of binge eating because they drain all of their willpower. So with that in mind I'm gonna give you the very basic things that you have to be aware of when breaking your fast, & I promise you this is all you need to know. The number one thing you need to know is not some magical food that will miraculously help you lose more fat after your fast. No the number one logical thing that you need to be aware of is binge eating & the second thing that won't even effect most of you, but i'll go over it anyway is digestion. That's all you need to know...see you guys next week....just kidding. Let's get the digestion stuff out of the way so I can teach you how to never binge again after fasting. Your digestive system will most likely reduce enzyme production & affect the mucus lining in your stomach on a long term fast. I'm sure everyone's heard of the phrase if you don't use it you lose it & that applies to your digestive system as well. Your digestive abilities in a sense will experience a sort of atrophy, however digestion won't typically be affected by most fasting protocols. That's right most of you that are obsessing about whether to buy organic bone broth or regular bone broth to break your fast are wasting your time. Whether your following intermittent fasting, the 5:2 diet, the warrior diet, or even the one meal a day diet your digestive system should remain fine. Only after a long term fast usually lasting three to seven days will you experience this effect on your digestive system. Again most of you are not fasting that long, you're simply skipping breakfast & maybe lunch, but if you do wind up doing a long term fast where you fast for a few days there's a very simple solution to reset your digestive system. Reintroduce food slowly starting with food that's easier to digest. Meaning you can't go from fasting for seven days to eating pizza hut because you will definitely need to take a...........*Scene from dumb and dumbber*.... that's's really not rocket science. Foods that are easiest to digest include things like...yes the bone broths, soups, juices, and pureed fruit. White rice, mashed potatoes, and raw fruit are all easy to digest as well so you can begin incorporating these easy to digest foods the first day or two after breaking a long fast. By day 3 you should be okay to start consuming most natural real food including protein sources. Don't add a crazy amount of variety until you feel comfortable with basic protein options like chicken, fish, and eggs. Again most of you aren't on long term fasts & are instead doing short fasting intervals so most of you don't even have to worry about this. So what's something that most of you will have to deal with, even if you're on a short term fast. Well the number one thing is overeating especially over eating high glycemic carbohydrates

    24 hour fast. Usually I break it with my OMAD being salad, with 2-3 boiled eggs, no dressing. A serving of plain Greek yogurt with some frozen berries, and a tangerine. A banana. And that’s it. Then a give myself a protein shake in the late afternoon before I work. I burn about 3000 calories a day, but only take in 500-900. Usually just 750-800. Yesterday I worked extra hard, and today woke up feeling starved. So I had a whole cucumber, and a small kosher dill pickle. Three large spoonfuls of yogurt. 2 boiled eggs. Then I made myself a sandwich, with 2 pieces of white bread, a slice of American cheese, and a serving of turkey(60 calories worth) plus a handful of pretzels. I’m feeling kind of bad for eating that now... and I feel my unhealthy relationship with food hovering over me. Trying to avoid the sudden binge but damn it’s hard. I seriously have a fear of food, and probably an eating disorder. I think what made this happen was that I got on the scale today, my weight stayed the same as it was yesterday, which may not be bad to most people, but I was seriously expecting to be a pound lighter. It made me feel bad, like I was starving or mistreating myself with food deprivation for no reason because I wasn’t a pound lighter this morning. Am I going to be okay?

    I've started with 5 day fast on 22nd of April (right away, from no diet/workout plan at all) leading right in OMAD diet, now I am on second day of pure water fast (taking only salt in the morning for mineral balance) and I feel great, already. I workout each day when on OMAD, heavy weights, and only light workouts while fasting. I've started on 115 kgs (253,5 lbs) month ago, now I am on 103 kgs (227 lbs). My goal is to keep going - OMAD + 5-7 day fast each month - at least until I am down 85 kgs (187 lbs). And only OMAD after that . I am aiming to get close to that before my birthday at end of July, that would be my present for myself.
    I have tried fat loss many times before, but I've made many mistakes. Thanks to this channel, I do believe that I am on right way to finally get in way better shape. I wish you all success with whatever your plan for fat loss/muscle gain is! Most important thing is - feel great in your own body!

    I broke my 18 days water fast this morning. I drank a bone broth and felt sick, I later ate 1/4 of a watermalon (a small one). It's midnight my belly got bigger immediatly, it still hurts and i have so much gaz.
    After watching so many videos, i was still lost. I wanted to cut all carb, but then I tried to remember when was the last time i did not have all those issues, and what I was eating. I used to eat lot of rice, with meat (different part of the animal) and sauces, all home made. And i used to play basketball everyday, holidays, i was an athlete.
    So after this refeeding process, i will slowly go back to what worked for me, a bit of everything, with meat and i'll join a club to play again, or do another sport!
    No more crazy diet and frustration!

      I researched a bit online and i've found out that it rises a bit ur insulin levels so it definetely breaks ur fast, that s because of the nicotine, it gets metabolised, so technically nicotine free cigarettes wont break ur fast.

    I'm doing something a bit different. I'm drinking juice (not fancy green juice, just orange and apple juice) and I'm doing it for 3 days. I'm losing weight but I'm getting from the juice roughly the same amount of calories I was consuming before (because I'm drinking a lot of it). Will I still have to be really careful about starting to eat again if I'm not on an extreme calorie deficit fast?

      After juicing, try blending or smoothie, then solid foods, your regular eating routine but in small amount because we don't want to regain the weight we fasted

      I'm on my 3rd water fast and that is very true. I'm on Day 3 and feel very calm! My mental acuity is very high and my energy is through the roof. The original plan was to do a 120 hour (5 day) water fast, but since I have yet to experience a single negative side-effects, I just might extend it to 7 or 10 days, followed by the ADF (Alternate Day Fasting) nutrition schedule :) Tbh, I weighed 124.2lbs this past Saturday, so I'm seriously contemplating if I could just run off my own body fat until I'm 110lbs (I'm 5'3) and 10% body fat.

      Try this from a long time Vegan on RU-clip (The Healthy Life). Water fast, break fast by juicing (He prefers green leafy vegetables but i think fruits are good enough), then blending (Smoothie), then solid foods, he meant eating fruits because he is Vegan but for me you can now resume your regular eating habit.. I think that's the best to break fast.

    Fruits after fasting !!!! No . I don't think its a good idea to eat fruits after fasting for 4 or more days . Fruits are full of fibers and its will be not easy for your body to accept it after soo long fasting . Its will lead you to constipation.     I have some questions I'd like to be answered.
    1- I did the fast the day 3, managed to loose 8-9lbs and I feel so much better I'm excited actually. But I've seen a ton of articles about how fasting slows your metabolism down and when you get off of it, you pretty much gain it all back. How do you stop that?
    2- I read that your body doesn't break down muscles u til your body has completely depleted it's fats stores which makes a ton of sense but some articles say you lost muscles even though your burning fat. I disagree but wanted to know if anyone watching this video knows if this is true or not.
    I really like doing this and the days seem long when your home doing nothing so I want to try to go to the gym and try to keep myself busy while fasting, however I am concerned my efforts will go to waste when I stop fasting. I do the brother like you said and had a salad. So I'll see she I wake up tomorrow. But, I'm concerned about this. Please I anyone can give any advice as to my two questions, I'd really appreciate it.
    3- Is this honestly healthy? Like, has anyine gained the weight back or do you have to keep doing this constant to keep the weight off?
    I really want to know about the muscle thing too. I did research comparing fasting vs starvation and I found many things that says your body doesnt go after muscle until it really needs it. So, I guess I'm safe for that but why do people say the opposite information?

    True story on the shitting. I came out of a 30hs fasting last night and switched from Keto to high protein (chicken and steak) with some cheese and bacon to avoid carbs. I was grilling for 2 hs and by the time I ate it was 8 PM.

    I extended my usual 20 hour fast last Friday night to a three day fast just to see if I could. I worked out and read a lot that weekend to past the time. Finally, I broke my fast with a bowl of veggies, eggs, chicken in a broth. I'm glad I didn't have pizza.

    Alright, question here. I think I’m going to try intermittent fasting. According to this video, it’s best to end your fast by eating vegetables and fruits first, but I always eat cereal first thing. Obviously this has carbs.. so should I change that before starting fasting? Or should I start out eating the same things I normally would and then switch to vegetables and fruits as I get more used to it?

    I just finished a fast. This is all good. But let's be real there are some cravings that don't give a shit about how full you feel.

    I wonder why every time I break my 23/1 omad diet my blood pressure increases and I fell dizzy. Most of my diet is rice, pork/chicken,seldom fish and vegetables. Has it something to do with the kind of food I eat? I hope you help me understand and clarify these things.
