My one complaint(I have the 7000SLX) is that I am uncomfortable with the small rubber blocks supplied. I thought of using rubber topped wooden blocks that are the same exact size of the trays. These then, would give me increased surface area, and in my opinion, more stability. I use the factory car recommended lift points and the wooden blocks would cover a greater surface area, similar to garage lifts with 5-6" pads, with less chance of slippage with the supplied rubber blocks. Opinions? Thanks

    • Tech4hire
      Tech4hire 3 days ago

Obviously anything not from quickjack is not recommended but I agree. My rubber mounts split in half, because my car has seam lift points. The only issue with blocks is they may slide that's why I bought the truck lift kit. So far it has been pretty good.

I'm thinking about doing this to my Vulcan S. But I need to do the tank and both fenders. You think 2 cans of Plasti Dip and 2 cans of clear coat is enough? And how long did you end up waiting between the gloss coats? I might have missed that in your video.

@MRBLACK947 Sure I could have done that. Although someone who only uses these for oil changes might not have the experience to do that. Besides the point of all my videos is to show you my experience. An out of the box item failed, I also showed how great their customer service is. It's not like I had a naked girl in the thumbnail. It's the actual product. I guess you can create your own channel and make your videos how you see fit. I will do the same. Happy New year.

@Tech4hire to be fair you could have had the car down off the lift in an hour. All you had to do was go to the hardware store and get a strait NPT coupler and remove the QD. Done. I would not have left my car up there for two weeks unless it was in the winter and snowing out and I didn't care. Or I wanted to make a video exaggerating the problem. ;) and yes I do own a pair of Quick Jacks myself.

@Tech4hire don't need to, today installed Wisamic LED 5,75" and It it night to day compared to halogen. Pattern is very nice, very good cutoff line, good high beam. For 50usd there could not be a better upgrade. But I choose Wisamic not any Chinese unit. Many of them have shitty pattern.

The adaptive light is an awesome concept. But for $500 its too costly. You can get the cheaper headlight plus fog lights and light up the corners for hundreds less! I just got a Truck Lite but haven't installed it yet. If the corner lighting bothers me I'll go for fog lights. There's a crowdfunding project going on for a headlight that self-levels. As the bike leans, the light rotates to stay parallel to the ground. I have no idea how much that will sell for if it gets fully funded, but the demo was really cool. I imagine they can do that trick w/o any sensors or tech. All it takes is an axle for the light to rotate on, a weight below the light that always points down, and something to dampen the swaying when it gets shaken.

    • Maximus Minimus
      Maximus Minimus 5 months ago

@Tech4hire Was reading up and it seems like '05 GMs did not use a transponder key. Ouch. Reason I was curious is because here in Edmonton when newer expensive vehicles get stolen, it's generally because someone left it running or just left the keys in the ignition, according to a police friend. So I'm always curious when vehicles get stolen what the full story was. Sounds like this is more the fault of GM for not including some kind of reasonable theft deterrent in your expensive truck back then. Sorry to hear it.

    • Tech4hire
      Tech4hire 5 months ago

Apparently GM vehicles, especially trucks, are very easy to steal. They broke a piece of the door handle to open the door, threw the On Star out of the window and jimmed the ignition. They did about 7,500 in damages.

Making my own using screw adjustable deck supports which can be easily modified for any particular application. $14.72 CAD each, and I believe they are rated for ~2700 lbs. each. Will use them with my DIY hockey puck pinch weld adapters. www2.lowes.ca/product/deck-connectors/black-metal-multi-format-adjustable-deck-support-844539 I'm sure you can get something similar in the US. My problem with the Quickjack is that it's always a PITA to get the things lined up on my low ground clearance car at the right lifting point locations. With this setup using my shortened adjustable deck supports, I can lift the quickjack 1" to get it started, then adjust the supports by hand in the right spot, and take up the slack with the adjusting nuts on the deck supports, so they are in contact with the pinchweld. Then just lift as normal. May have to weld on a larger base plate for better side-to-side stability, but that's easy.

  • NY Plantings
    NY Plantings 5 months ago

Had a coupler go bad almost right away. I didnt feel the need to tell anyone but that is just me. Quickjack doesn't make these couplers as you know as most companies do not make their own couplers...but QuickJack offered to send right away no questions asked. I already ordered my own off the website for like $15bucks and a couple of extras since as a mechanic with heavy equipment background I knew this can happen anytime. In fact, many heavy equipment safety rules are derived from a hydraulic coupler's propensity to fail and drop a bucket etc. We don't see youtube videos with "Caterpillar Fail" in big letters over a coupler..or maybe you do. Something about being in media makes people....something. The title of your video is the last thing I would want to see if it were about my business. I think you know that though and putting yourself first in order to draw attention, then drawing views (because of all the work QuickJack does online to be seen and you using their keyword to draw away customers) above the well being of those who are trying to make a living like anyone else. To be frank, many people do not even watch this (impressions vs.views) but if they are on the fence about buying Quickjack or Handylift etc (like a woman buying a lift for her husband who wont get through the first 20 seconds of you talking about your sewing machine car)) it might steer them in the other direction away from QuickJack and not get the truth. Even if you lost one sale for someone else's business...shame on u bro! Quickjack has some of the best customer service you will ever see from any company hands down. Not that I'm any better than you just pointing it out because I really am a fan of this company and do not think this is helpful in the least.

    • SargonDragon
      SargonDragon 2 months ago

@Tech4hire _I_ found this video very helpful. It does not dissuade me from buying a QuickJack. It has exactly the opposite effect. All products have failures. I'm more comfortable buying a product when I know what its common failures are. If there's no information available on how a product fails, that doesn't mean to me that oh obviously this product never fails then! Instead it means whatever way it screws up will be a surprise I'm not prepared for. My take away from this video is that when QuickJack fails, it does so in a safe fashion which is a very good thing. But it leaves the car stuck in a lifted position. That is important to know! My car competes in motorsports, and I can't be missing an event because I can't get it down. I can prepare for that case by making sure I have the means to get the car off of the QuickJack and back on the ground manually in a pinch. Also, if the quick disconnects are its most common failure mode (and they seem to be), those are easy to replace. And I can have backups on hand. This video actually increased my confidence enough that I just ordered a QuickJack BL-3500SLX. Thanks!

I'm not buying an overpriced used Harley Sportster "custom one off , Firm price cash in hand" just to have it break down a week later and not have any warranty and be out 5K. Throwing out a bike purchase as you put it isn't in most guys budgets so buying new is the best option unless you can find one used with a warranty but those are almost a myth with the bobber black and the interest rate is higher even if you have the great credit to get it financed. There's nothing that can replace a manufactures warranty and 0% interest rate on a new bike. Just pay a little more and get insurance that covers damage at a low deductible. Getting a Bobber Black as my first bike in 15+ years , you see something you've wanted for a long time and go for it. Don't listen to some guys opinion on Facebook... unless it's mine ...

A side by side comparison in separate windows--7:37 (Chinese copy), 14:53 (JW Speaker)--proves very interesting. If the Chinese headlight beam was lowered only slightly, there would be better fill directly in front of the bike, and the height of the beam would be closer to the JW (i.e., if the Chinese version did, in fact, have greater height than the JW, as was seen on the front of your house). Still, there is little to justify the price difference, despite the JW's adaptive capabilities. Many in the US are quick to judge the Chinese as copycats, however as a culture claiming to have advanced technological abilities, the US has fallen behind the rest of the world. High speed transit, for example, throughout Europe has been in place for decades, while China, Japan, and South Korea have maglev trains as part of everyday life. While inexpensive Chinese labor was a historical reality, their emerging middle class is a current day reality. Granted, China continues to control the press, internet, etc., hence does not (currently) offer freedoms comparable to the US. On the flip side, with Trump in office and the "great" economy exacerbating economic disparity between those who have and those who don't--not to mention his efforts to control the press--it is difficult to predict what our future will look like. . . In the meantime, riding and coffee provide for some healthy focus, escape, and reflection.

Damn! I wish I had seen this video before ordering my Chinese Adaptive thinking it was going to be indeed adaptive. The seller straight up lies to you on Amazon. Adaptive is clearly written in the title, they show you the adaptive fonctions in the pictures and it even explains to you how the adaptive works in the description. But NO! It ain't! When I've contacted them, they told me it was a listing mistake. So today (June 20th 2019), they are still knowingly straight up lying to their customers. UPDATE: I've complained so much that they refunded me my money and let me keep the lamp. Well positive point, the sections that were supposed to be adaptive, are actually turn signals 😏

Here is the info from where I bought it: 990 Pound 75 Minute Fire Protection Safe with Deluxe Door Organizer Patented Ultimate Access Swing Out Rack 71" H x 44" W x 26" D Electronic Lock 47 Cubic Ft.

Tech4hire that’s a 48 gun bighorn safe it weighs 440lbs go Ck it out, if it weighed 1000lbs you couldn’t move it, sorry just went and checked and it’s 420lbs not 440

I don't agree with you and I'm a white/Russian kid. The only real racist character is killmonger but he was supposed to be. Do I think this movie is awesome? Yes. Do I think it's overrated? Yes. But I think they could've not have Shuri be a bit rude.

i just watched the movie for the first time and some of the things that happen to white people if it was opposite black people would be screaming racist

@Triumphalism Est 69 no it's because the woman keep making racial slurs, for example the line "another white man we need to fix" and "Coloniser" lines. These are clearly racial slurs. It is not appropriate in a children's movie from Disney.

    • Triumphalism Est 69
Triumphalism Est 69 2 months ago

How ironic. The minute a movie predominantly with black actors is featured, white people feel excluded and say its racism. Meanwhile, white people have many movies with a majority of white actors you don't say its racism then. Lol also you people hate the idea of multiculturalism in movies now, your just showing yourself to be a hypocrite.

I agree with you. They way they treated white people in this movie would make people crazy if it were the other way around, and by definition that is racism.

Good question. I am not 100% sure. I will be looking into a new seat, I am debating on replacing my engine covers to black and of course an upgraded filter for the bike. After that I am not sure. Triumph did a great job with this bike, not much I want to change.

100% on point. Inagine a room full of white people barking at a black man saying he is not worthy to speak in this hall. @Shang Tsung so? MY money did not go to it. You can spend what you want on it. Now we got Brie Larson all acting concerned about Women of Color. And yet she had no problem making Monica Rambeau a girl looking up to Carol. Bitch, Monica Rambeau was Captain Marvel BEFORE Carol and she was a Bisexual Black Woman. Brie is so full of shit. And that movie is sooooo bad, horrible writing and continuity went out the window for the MCU.
