It's a good skill-honing table. Not very many tables out there demand the amount of tilt abuse that Gorgar does to keep a ball out of the drains. Everything on the table is pretty much designed to rebound the ball right into the drains.

If you play the game with a 6 button Genesis controller, you have to do a particular thing to get Forgotten Worlds to play. There is a trigger button called "mode"; you must hold it down when starting up the game. If you do this correctly, the game will start after the opening cutscene. I've tried to get it to work on my Retroduo Portable, but I've had no such luck. On a real Genesis, however, it should work fine. Good luck! :)

1988, wow. I played the shit out of this at the arcade, loved it...and I couldn't give a toss about score. Ever. If you're interested in 'scoring'; play pinball. Shmups are about blowing stuff up, skill based gameplay and survival. Anywho, thanks for the review. I'm glad PC Engine got it, even if other consoles missed out. Keeps it alive.

@b rad over the counter gaming ... you boiled it? the plastic didn't melt or warp? I'm about to clean mine for the first time. I'm getting that typical flashing colors and have to wiggle the cartridges to get them to sit just right to work. I would prefer to clean versus replace but boiling is a little scary. =)
