    I remember a story about a Brazilian writer who went to a fishermen bar, near a fishing village in Rio. He later recounted that you could get any meat in that bar, except for fish. So I would rename that Definitely not fishermen stew. Still looks delicious though.

    Making this right now with our cherry tomatoes and basil from the greenhouse and the stale leftover sourdough baguette. Thanks, Chef John. Don't want those ripe cherry tomatoes going to waste. Delicious. Though I do bake the bread cubes and olive oil in the convection oven for ease.

    I tried making these 2x...they still tasted wonderful but were heavy and dry, my oven,normally pretty acurate near burned them 1st time! I used my kitchen aid to mix...maybe use my bread machine next time? Second try I did not do the egg wash...

    II OM SAI RAM II Incredibly small world, indeed! This also happens to be one of the most popular meal time dishes in Gujarat ( identical recipe - except that they do not refrigerate it but prefer to have it piping hot) where it is also a staple dish of the villagers..     I love his videos but if I’m being completely honest, I just cannot stand the way he talks!! Sounds very choppy and doesn’t keep a consistent tone. Also kind of sounds like he reads one sentence at a time and it just drives me a bit bonkers... I’m sorry, great videos tho!

    Man I live in the south, found one of these at Walmart on sale in the bakery, decided to buy it even tho I’ve never heard of it. Delicious. It kinda reminds me of the “ooey-gooey” bars that my mom makes. This one wasn’t lemony so it had a similar taste. Looking forward to making this fresh. Thanks for posting!
