    之所以大部分人愿意改变轨道撞向一个人,而不愿意把一个胖子推下去救5个人的原因是,后者需要决策者承担过重的道德和法律负担,而前者并没有。

You simply cannot think about morality without motives. You can have a code of morals and ethics and what causes one to break them. Iago is your best example. To comprehend it take the moral code in the ten commandments or laws. it's a moral code. Then take the 7 identified deadly sins of faults of man. In Othello the fault Iago uses is jealousy and the moral code broken is murder. I'll stop there. Without a moral code and identified reasons (temptations) for breaking them you have personal inclinations. Personal inclinations are chaos and you exist as animals. Free will dictates if you have a moral code or not. It is nearly impossible to reconcile groups of people with and without moral codes. While Sandel offers a fun class I do not see that it teaches much.

First , it's a great lecture to hear. I just start to see how Harvard goes I ended up seeing fully🤓👌. - I don't think killing a crew member is moral . - Because , consider yourself as a crew member u decided to kill one for sake of others. As soon as u kill him , when heart stop pumping suddenly u see a ship approaching to rescue all . - Now its fair to do that, do u think so . you have to value all life equally , you have to wait for the rescue - if paker had died naturally , now u can use him for survivality

I am quit surprised how bad a research of a harvard Alumni president can be: Although I like und respect Merkel a lot, she voted against same sex marriage (however made the parliament vote open so the rest of her party were able to vote for it), minimum wage was a project of her coalation partner, the social-democrat party, she was against it for decades, its defenetly not her doing. And nuclear energy... well germany decided to get out of nucelar energy in year 2000 before she was in power. She acutally BANED that law and just changed her mind again after fukushima.

Imo if you have more money than you could ever spend you owe it to your fellow man to be at least somewhat charitable with your assets. Yes, if you have worked hard to earn your money fairly you should be able to benefit from your hard work. On the other hand, wealth can be lost very easily these days and wouldnt you want some wealth to be distributed throughout our society in the event that you one day may have to rely on the charities of others?

The obvious argument here, which strangely no one made, is that there has been a redistribution of wealth going on in America for as long as there has been an America, but it has gained steam in the past few decades, namely that the super-rich are accruing more and more of the collective national wealth. When one has money, one passes the laws, selects who the politicians are, and decide how much workers are paid. The wealthy are serving themselves, which has nothing to do with "property rights," it's confiscation of the collective wealth of society, to which all workers contribute.

Individual its not minority. Those 2 definitions are measured by different units. Majority and minority are measured by the unit of group ( of individuals) . Big group vs small group. Each member of the group is an individual. If we're talking about interests, theres individual interests vs common interests. But if were talking about rights in this case there are only individual rights and a group of People doesnt have more rights bc each person as the same rights. Having more individuals its not more rights. A concept has to be coherent to be a concept. I see a lot of incoherencies about basic stuff in College teaching

I absolutely agree with their decision to kill and eat the cabin boy. The reality of the situation dictates a reversion to the more fundamental laws of nature: I.e. - Survival. Not "Survival of the fittest" but just plain old "survival". It's easy to look from the outside from the safety and luxury of society, and say "That was wrong" but imagine yourself in that position: you are literally starving to death and there is only one way to survive. What would you do in that situation? Die a moral death? Or eat and live? Should someone even be held accountable for a choice made in such a desperate situation? The fact that the 3 men returned home at all is evidence enough that they made the right decision.

I have a male friend who is like Lisa Randall, because he's conventionally academic. I once said to him, 'Out of Pinky and the Brain, I am the Brain, and you are Pinky.' He angrily responded, 'I am the Brain, and you are Pinky!' The truth is we both believed what we said. What this does is enable us to see how we're both Pinky, and the Brain. We simply have to alternate our perspectives with each other to achieve the effect. Why do I like Lisa when she's an elder? I would have liked her when she was younger, as well. We're opposites in two ways I have in mind now. The point of these is for us to argue about who is better or superior. The point of sameness is to become more what you are with someone else. Although, I want her to stay the same, and even become more what she is. The problem with this is should I convince her at all or impress her from my perspective, she will become vulnerable to change. If she were to concede intellectual defeat with me, her subsequent attempt to be like me would be unimpressive, and reduce her attractiveness for a while. For this reason, I would seek to enhance her instead of only debate with her about science vs BS, and which is better. On a different subject, some facial expressions should be illegal, and they're plausibly deniable. The people in charge know that, and they can't explicitly state it, nor overtly do something about it. They do obtain information about what those expressions are about and what they do - from an atrocious consequence. If they prohibit them, then would they draw the line there, or would multi-billionaires experience prohibition with their considerably more subtle facially expressive patterns? Some multi-billionaires are helpful, and others are not. Should we ban tails on a coin because heads means we win, usually? There are beings who want to destroy some maths, because they are the formulas for impure intentions, and behaviours. However, those themselves have impure maths they are unaware of, because they have perceptual deficits. When you alert them to the deficits in question, they react with behavioural changes desirable for us, with our forgiveness in mind. Nonetheless, the potentials that involves are infinite, and they never fail to do more wrongs they are unaware of until we inform them about those. Yet they want to destroy the maths of other people, beings, and entities, etc. Ultimately, it is mathematicians who deal with that specific problem they present to us, because these factually understand their errors. Correction must come from people without doubt. Lisa's spirituality isn't a necessity as a scientist. Someone could ask her if science causes her to be or become spiritual. This could, however only spirituality is for her to absolutely be or become spiritual. She has permission to practice science, and not be spiritual at all. Of course, the subject spirituality guarantees its practitioners already were, or are, or will be spiritual. Alcoholic spirits, and the spirit level for builders, carpenters, etc. provide experiential information about spirituality. Other things do, as well. What about soulfulness? Yeah, this exists, and it's a different however relatable thing, with an important connection. Nonetheless, with additional magic or science, something deeper becomes available. Do these soulful and spiritual people want to influence themselves at the Planck Scale? I don't want to consciously influence myself this deeply. You can collide particles with control, or you can be content with the fact they collide with each other anyway, and you benefit from this whether you know it or not. Legitimate soulful spirituality is for personal control. With Heavenly God and Goddess, it's their way or the highway. Your objective with them, should you be sincere, is to be ever more like them, and infinitesimally one with them. Whoever doesn't have their Heaven deal work for them, basically wants to be themself. This is the truth about it. If you make yourself ever more like Jesus Christ, eventually you get to live in Christendom, somewhere different than Heaven. A problem is teachers falsely claim Jesus is the way he is, and this is enough for you to be however you want, while you live in Christendom with him because you write your name on a piece of paper that says you worship him, or for some other implausible reason. They don't want you to know you need to become a Christ yourself to gain appropriate entry to Christendom. If you're a Mogwai or a Gremlin, expect to suffer. If you're one of these, unless you engineer yourself into a partial God or Christ, you will continue to suffer in the ways they involve. Heaven and Christendom are escape locations, with specific demands about rightful entry. A Gremlin cannot live in a Gremlin Heaven because this would have other Gremlins in it, and they would do all the things you see in the films about them plus more. It wouldn't be heavenly. Alternatively one could live somewhere with an assortment of kinds, which would involve a mixture of experiences pleasant and unpleasant. Cheers, and it's soft drinks for me, almost always.

Sounds like the recap to Fate Zero with Kiritsugu aiming for world peace by killing all the evil people, only to have his ideal turns on against him when a scenario played out with the 1 boat was about to sink and stranded on the middle of the sea. You will save more lives the more you kill, so he chose to kill everybody on the boat but live just one. If he could chooses to kill his daughter and his wife to save 6 billion people. He would do that too. All of that was prognosticating a solution for world peace by killing the minority to save the majority. If you repeat that process indefinitely until there's only 1 person left, you will see how flawed this logic is but it's a very interesting thing to think about.

So two group of people are standing on different sides of the road. Both groups are equally in danger. One group is made up of 5 people and the other one only 1. So since we are killing the stand alone person, we can assume 4 people were lucky enough not to stand there. If we are killing the 5 by sparing the one, then 4 people were not as lucky to be on that side of the road... As far as the moral principles, it would probably be different between Europe and the United States. We just ask different kinds of questions when it comes to morality. Raising a nation as future soldiers who are consenting on other peoples lives? The question of being the driver and having the right to kill somebody accidentally???
