David omera planning things with summerhanged and escobar, keep an eye on Adrian mcginusses horses closing to Christmas, watch out for shadymcoy next weekend if he is sent to Ascot champions day, passing trade has run some amazing races without winning so watch out, same for Dalton highway (2nd today @ 10/1), Randall's your poet has run like a demon yet always seems to Finnish fourth, watch for him in a big prize race. (I have had at least 1 winner at last 3 ascot meetings pocket square+salute the soldier, tinto and Pendleton, had a 14/1 winner today listen dear) (had waldergiest in the arc) oh sky marshal ran twice in 2 days at 3mile+ both times placed in both but was less than 4/1, worth a check, still checking tomorrows runners but fancy the ladies to run some winners tomorrow :)

The sprint was a messy race, the fact the El Astronaute finished 3rd hugging the rail screams the form isn't going to be upheld, nor sure why Mabs Cross is being kept at 5, she always gets outpaced early then finishes with a fast finish, she's dying for 6 I think.

Enable won last year's arc by a very short nose. Looked vulnerable at longchamp. Every racecourse suits different horses more favourably. Mr Fabre has a history of arc winners and 16s was a steal. Sotsass the best of 3y olds. Battash needs firm ground. Del mar here we come. Pinotubo has inbuilt turbo and high cruising speed. Good luck trying to get the better of him. Would need a another Dayjur to pass him out. Bring back Willie Carson and Dick Hern.

I do think we have the 2 best 2yos running in the race.....at the prices its a race I don't think the ordinary punter will get involved...……….I think Pinatubo will win but wouldn't dream of backing any horse at those odds on...………….good luck if you are

  • Mark Littlewood
    Mark Littlewood 6 days ago

"Only the second horse to attempt the treble", I think this opening sums up this woeful summing up of the race. The ground was not an excuse for Enable in fact before the race I stated that it enhanced her chances given the fast nature of the Longchamp track. No one has mentioned the idea that if coming wide to attack Enable who has shown signs of being lazy, was an intentional tactic then it was a very clever move by an equally clever trainer. Not something you could credit these three bookmaker rep's with

Great mare, but beaten fair and square by a a world class stayer on the day. You'd have to think that she has still done enough to hold her position of top ranking in the IFHR rankings for the current year, but Walgeist may join her with this colossal win.

      SvendBosanvovski 7 hours ago

@georgina vincent Waldgeist has joined her at the top of the IFHR rankings, Georgina. She goes around again this weekend. She'll be vulnerable with such a close backup after a gut busting run in the Arc. Benbatl might be better value in the QE2.

i thought waldgeist was the stand out each way bet in the arc, following his closing 3rd behind enable & crystal ocean in the king george & bearing in mind that he was 4th last year, as well as meeting enable on home turf. i also had another outstanding ew bet yesterday on billesden brook; unfortunately i didn't do the double. neither horse was given a mention by the itv team, which seemed strange because both of them had shown good recent & past form' i also fancied 'so perfect' ew, in the abbaye.

Enable best horse in race best mare I have seen. She ran her heart out. Frankie be proud u did nothing wrong. The godolphin horse what we're they thinking in that ground. Acted like a pacemaker . Well done to the winner but we all know the best horse came second.

      Fu dochi 6 days ago

I’ve just watched it again. The 3 that set the pace all pretty much stopped. Poor Enable did amazingly well to keep going as well as she did. Pat Eddery on Dancing Brave was near the back and swept past the lot of them. I think Frankie got it wrong.

    • El Gran Senor
El Gran Senor 6 days ago

Fu dochi I agree, I don't blame him. I'm sure he thought that Magical was his biggest threat and didn't want her to get too far away but she'd gone way too hard and he wasted a lot of petrol keeping close to her.

@dominic spiller yes I hate o briens they always put loads of horses in one race same in the derby this year wasn't a massive field and they had 6 horses in the one race shouldn't be allowed a pacemaker and that's it I think dettori should have held on to enable a little bit longer today I wanted him to win so much it would have been great to see it's good taking to u Dominic and you talk sense take care have a good night

    • dominic spiller
      dominic spiller 7 days ago

@Juan Pablo I think your right as they knew Magical cant beat Enable having now finished behind her 5 times. Walgiest had been beaten 4 times before today by Enable, I think the ground had alot to do with the result. O'Brien always tries tactics, in this years king George they tried to get Enable beat as she was wide most of the way. Enable is 1 of the best of recent times, since Frankel and Kingman. Coolmore win alot of group 1s but alot are weak, won by solid but very much beatable horses. Japan is no superstar, Crystal Ocean was at least 5 pound below his best at York and the horses behind have done nothing for the form. Enable deserves to be retired now

    • Juan Pablo
      Juan Pablo 7 days ago

@dominic spiller magical pushed enable out wide right at the start I think dettori was watching obriens horses thinking Japan was the danger

John Gosden is the greatest trainer in Europe. For all o'Brien's very good horses they haven't had a superstar for a very long time. Juddmonte produce champion after champion. Enable went down all guns blazing, probably the ground not ideal. Walgiest is lethal in france

The way obriens team try and push enable out wide there not arsed about themselves winning as long as enable didn't win proper arse holes o Brien s team and Ryan Moore lease john gosden doesn't put ten horse's in one race like o Brien
