I just got the svt Jackhammers, on my 2017 street glide stock. No cams or anything. And they sound just like this video but better in person. The boys from Alabama Samson v twin are the real deal. I am raising all types of hell thru Daytona. Absolutely love these bad boys.

Just got the svt Jackhammers, the boys from Alabama Samson V twin are the real deal. Just because you haven't heard about them don't be fooled. These mufflers are hell fire. I have them on my 17 street glide no modifications and they sound fantastic. You can't tell the true sound until you hear it in person. I am raising hell all thru Daytona beach. Trust me worth the wait. I chose the hammers because I like my mufflers loud.

Is the sound that much different than the 4" TABs? I purchased the 4" from you when TABs first came out, but I have always liked the deeper tone of 4.5"s. Hate to drop another $700 on another set of slip-ons if the sound isn't that much different. I also plan on doing an S&S 475 cam but heard these M8s need back pressure to keep the torque curve even. Thanks!

@Peter Rasch Hey look, you finally got noticed. Maybe you should have just bought a bike, put some pipes on it and gone for a ride. It's pretty hard to troll people for no reason while you're out riding, plus you could have some real life human interaction. Just remember Raschy, everything you hate about other people is really what you hate about yourself. Best of luck bud, hope you get out of the basement before the exhaust from that generator puts you to sleep.

Which is deeper at idle, the bassani dnt or the kerker stouts and when you rev it up does the kerker stout have more growl than the bassani dnt and would the rcx tormentors fit in a 2019 RGS

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports 23 days ago

At Idle I would say the DNT's, but the kerkers get a little more crackly when you're on the throttle. The tormentors would fit your 2019 and would accept either of those mufflers

I think the video isn't fair, Most people aren't going to have all the goodies that this bike has so it's DEFINITELY not going to sound the same.

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports Month ago

@ww clt We have done videos with almost every pipe with the stock headers as well. If you go through our video library you'll see that and we clearly marked them with Stock headers or with aftermarket headers so you can get an idea of the sound both ways. That wasn't the point of this video, here we're showing our top 5 slip ons at their fullest potential and we're not hiding the add ons. All of these pipes still sell in the same order, whether it's for stock headers or aftermarket. If there was a muffler you liked you should go back and take a look at what they sounded like on stock headers. There's a few that we started selling after we removed our stock headers and we're not going to put them back on and re-tune just for a sound clip. Hope that makes sense, there's no deceit here. If you have any questions or need help finding a video let us know and we'll send you the link,

    • ww clt
      ww clt Month ago

@WestEndMotorsports well I understood what your saying however most people I no doesn't have headers and cams, just slip ons. I really don't understand how you can't see that's it's not apples for apples... this is why a salesman gets a bad name for being deceitful not totally honest..... Anyways that's my 2cents

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports Month ago

The only goodies it has is headers and a cam. Many bikes have headers and the cam only really changes how it sounds at idle. It's also a great way for people too see the potential that the M8 has rather than it's natural stock lameness.

  • catagoryv

as long as your after market headers aren't the S&S power tune duals for 2017 and newer, because then the the slip ons (also for 2017 and newer) won't fit. You would think their slip ons would fit their own headers. There ought to be a big red disclaimer on these! Don't buy!

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports Month ago

@catagoryv So you bought their slip ons first, is that correct? If so, whoever sold you the header should have told you it would not fit. The reason the disclaimer isn't on the mufflers is because you don't need to pair them with S&S's headers, you could pair them with any header that accepts the stock slip ons for M8's, which is the majority. If you had to have the S&S then are going to spend your money again, but I specifically don't push their headers and some others that work the same way because it costs people more money.

    • catagoryv
      catagoryv Month ago

@WestEndMotorsports I disagree, because I didn't want to pay for a full exhaust a year ago. A lot of people buy slip ons first with the intention of doing the full stage one later. It would have been nice to know that my options for a full S&S exhaust would be limited to certain headers up front. It's too easy of a mistake to make, and warrants disclosure. It would be different if I had bought headers from a different company, and just assumed they would fit. The exhaust from S&S I bought to fit the Power Tune headers is literally the same exhaust. It looks exactly the same, sounds the same, and costs the same, except for the fact that I had to buy them twice!

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports Month ago

I think the disclaimer needs to be on the headers, which we actually put on. The Header is the component that changes the fitment, the slip ons fit stock or any aftermarket header that takes stock slip ons. There are a lot of options for headers that take the stock inlet size, there's only a few like the S&S headers that take the old style slip ons.

  • Kaylor Roy

I thought the kerker stout would've made the cut. Would you prefer the kerker stout are the bassani dnt's with the rcx headers?

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports Month ago

It's not really a preference thing, we're just going off of people's purchases with us. I would go with whichever one sounded better to me, so my preference and yours might not be exactly the same. They're both solid options and somewhat similar, so I don't think you'll end up too far off either way.

I installed the 4-inch Rhinehart slip-on mufflers my 2020 Harley Electra glide standard and was later told by a Mechanic at the Harley dealership that I should have installed the 4.5 -inch Rhinehart slip-on mufflers instead. When I looked online at the specs for the 4-inch Rhinehart slip-on mufflers vs the 4.5-inch Rhinehart slip-on mufflers the inside diameter of the baffles in the 4-inch and 4.5-inch baffles were both 2.25. The only thing different between these two Rhinehart slip-on mufflers was the end caps on the mufflers

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports Month ago

Yea, that doesn't make much sense since internally the baffles are the same diameter. The outside can is bigger and it does make a little difference, but not enough for you to have any real ill effect. Sound like another dealer not knowing what they're talking about.

    • WestEndMotorsports
      WestEndMotorsports 2 months ago

That's a big part of it. The other things is consistency between the cylinders. Length also affects flow and back pressure, because VTwins are basically sideways in the motor, the front pipe is generally longer than the rear which creates more back pressure. By running both pipes into a shared "collector" you actually allow the flow and back pressure to equalize. It's the same reason a 2-1-2 outperforms a true dual header.

Is this just for 17 and up?

Right now they are just for 17-up. The M8's with stock headers are really tame so the need for "Louder" slip ons is a little greater.

We got the stereo problem fixed and it screwed up the sound on a hanful of devices that play on a mono speaker. We're going to go over a lot of the sound clip videos in the coming months, but if you watch any of our recent videos, it's with these headers and slip ons in stereo.
