Jeremiah Burns7 months agoSo help me out here: the Global Unicast IPV6 address prefix is 2000:x:x:x:x..../3 In total, IPV6 addresses are 128 bits long. But the prefix is only 4x nibbles, so 16 bits. I'm told in my study materials that 2000: is 001 in binary. But I just can't see it. Best I can come up with is 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Do they simply eliminate ALL the trailing zeros?

YouDoober7 months ago2000 hex converts to 0010 0000 0000 0000 binary, which has 16 bits, including the leading zeroes. IPv6 has eight 16-bit fields. 8x16=128. Hope this helps.

GymChess7 months agoSome teachers are obviously too proud and perhaps arrogant as well, to make their students actually understand something much faster and easier than they themselves had to go through, after years of tearing their hair off. Anybody who's at least 30 years old, will know that to learn something nowadays is a lot easier than it used to be. Back in the day you either had to consult someone else, other books explaining the same thing much easier or just put up with a complete jackass pushing and expecting students too hard. It was more important it seems to push people through a course than to actually teach and make them understand. Life doesn't end after an exam. You're supposed to understand and remember also.

Alex Avila7 months agois like when you subtract 5 - 3, you get 2. two's complement of 3 is 7, when you add 5 and 7 you get 12. Just as he did on the video remove the carry (1) and you get 2
