S H yes people do paint after acid washing. I’ve seen it done very nicely and I’ve seen it done very poorly. Do your research

What would be the best cordless drill in your experience for even filters that are very tough to bolt back together. I would like to move away from ratcheting wrenches

      Pool Rescuers Month ago

Maxis196 I’m all about Milwaukee. 12volt works well. I buy the drill as well as the torque wrench. Sometimes the drill won’t do it. If you’re looking for some muscle get the 18volt ones. Really they all work well. Just stay away from black and decker products. Good luck my friend

Quick question: What are those yellow lines attached to your blasting hose? And what do they do? Are they necessary?

    • Pool Rescuers
      Pool Rescuers Month ago

Humberto Ramos hello. They are for the type of nozzle he has. He explains how he has a “dead man” switch on his handle. So when he let’s go of it the air transfers and cuts off. You don’t need this If you choose to go with a open nozzle style and just have to swivel the ball valve open and closed.

Hi Ryan, I was watching your video with the Revive, where comments were disabled. How did you vacuum that large pool without the water level going down? My vacuum hooks to my pump and I use the backwash line to the yard. It's impossible to vacuum without losing a few inches. My regular vacuum works normally, but when it gets back, I don't want it going through my pump and I use backwash line. Thanks

    • Pool Rescuers
      Pool Rescuers Month ago

Shellie Sager it would be best for a professional to do this for you. In the video I use a dolly vac system where it doesn’t use the pools equipment. The water level will drop. So again in this video after I was done I filled the pool back up so the pool would run properly. I apologize as this was my first video and I left some info out. Depending on your equipment too, this may be very difficult to do with your setup. All great questions you have.

    • Shellie Sager
      Shellie Sager Month ago

@Pool Rescuers No, I just found your video today - shocked my pool earlier with chlorine. I will look into the Revive, as I'm dealing with a skimmer leak and just getting by until I can afford to get it fixed. I don't think a dolly vac is in my budget! Once I get my pool fixed, I'll vacuum regularly, but right now it's a mess on the bottom, so I have to dump, don't want that going through my filter. thank!

    • Pool Rescuers
      Pool Rescuers Month ago

Shellie Sager it’s better to do this process with a dolly vac like I did in the video. If you’re doing a vac to waste with your pool you need to do it diligently. Did you already use the revive

For the past three years I've been cleaning my cell with the cord up, only because it's seem like the correct way to screw it on the base. Just a month ago my display read Low Salt 2700 PPM so I added two bags of salt which then read 3200 ppm but two weeks later my low salt light came back on and with a 2400 ppm so I added 2 more bags and did the bucket test for any leaks with a reading of 3000 ppm. Water evaporated evenly so i thought I needed to replace my cell and then I saw this video. I cleaned my cell with the cord facing down and now my system is reading 3800 ppm so I think it's working again and do hope this fixed the problem.

I own a pool company. It’s def a grind this time of year. When it’s hot just have to make sure they are running equipment 10 hours a day, filter is cleaned, enough chems are added. CYA can be too high on chlorine pools and needs to be drained. A lot of variables but if your fighting algae need to check the CYA/stabilizer level. Anyway, good luck man. I work 730am to damn near 9pm by the time I get scheduling done in the evenings. It ain’t a job or career for the lazy. That’s for sure

My truck is a Nissan Frontier SL model it's a great little truck with lots of power the bed is low making it easy to grab tools and supplies out the bed. It also comes with a roof rack, So I made a custom holster for my pole using 4inch pipe cutting it to fit my pole at the ends I capped off the front side of the pipe and have a cap that simply screws off at the back end and clamped it to my roof rack using 4inch brackets, and I also spray painted it to Make it look nice. Another thing I did was I went into home depot and picked up a electrical spool used for electrical wire (free of charge) and some 2inch pvc piping and I built a pulley system that works great for my 3inch trash pump hose. All I need to do is lift it out of the truck remove the bungee cord holding my hose in place line up the hose and pull it straight into the backyard and set up my pump. When I'm finished I simply reel it in like a fish and I'm done. You can always save money on poles and buy a Frontier lol or buy a roof rack for your truck. I find the pole hanging out of the bed and flopping around a pain. Hopefully this helps someone out. Great videos btw.

@Pool Rescuers Hey no problem I do alot of openings and closings. Living in Canada and all. This reel system I created saves at least 20minutes or more depending on how fit you are. It takes literally less than 5 minutes to reel in 200ft of 3inch hose with this set up. And it's a good little workout at the same time. So it's perfect.

Hey man we have one of the smaller blue pool blasters, probably like the one you own but smaller and water flows through front nozzle, then out the rear sides. Definitely not what you need for pools with large surface area. But for small "bathtub" as i refer to them , with no skimmer/vac port/or cartridge filter with small amounts of sand or other debris you'd normally vacuum to waste / ex-vac. But yea I'll comment later some tips i use to make my job easier, have been in the industry for 5 years and still learning every day.

Great information. I believe your info can help also help me as HVAC tech. I am still don't know where to start. How did you start, these home warrant they only have information for customers on their website and not contractors. Can you help on that?

    • Pool Rescuers
      Pool Rescuers 6 months ago

Ramadhan Senkondo yes sir. Usually there are numbers or links at the bottom of the websites. Also if you call their contract reaction department you can choose the prompt to apply to become a contractor. If all else fails call the company as if you were a customer and ask them to transfer you. You’ll find the right department. Good luck my man

pool owners are horror shows! lol. at least 70% in my mind in vegas. let the pool guy do it once a week? whaaat? or not? it's a fish tank. year round. don't ever cheap out. work that pool brush as much as possible on the tiles. etc. i got a 24.000 gallon pool with 6 water features. tiles. on a 8' x 5' waterfall. thank christ facing the east. ha. and it's 11 years old. like new! once it's clean. media blaster it clean! walnuts i hear is good. and use a squrit bottle every other day depending where you live? more or less with certain conditions. with bright bay. guardian. good stuff. works insane good in the house. no acid issues. cut it in half. but when it's 117 out and water splashes on tiles in the sun? instant evaporation. crystals form. lol. i swear. and it's like glass in area's. like a rock.

Hi.. I am starting a pool service in Sacramento California.. Have owned and maintained a pool for many years so I’m know the basics I guess.. I never once had a “green pool” issue with my pool but I was always maintaining and treating it along with heavy filtration.. I am recently retired and I’m doing this for extra income only.. I am wondering what methods you use, besides referrals and word of mouth to cultivate new accounts??

I have a salt water pool and was planning on draining it myself since I neglected it over the winter and its turned green. What is different in filling a salt water pool vs chlorine?

    • Pool Rescuers
      Pool Rescuers 7 months ago

Tyler L only difference is you need to add salt once full. Make sure the salt cell is functioning. You’ll also need to make sure that you add the proper amount of salt. It’s is important not to add more than needed.

Wondering-how many pools is “doable” in an eight hour route, while not sacrificing quality to the client?

    • Pool Rescuers
      Pool Rescuers 7 months ago

Tim Steele 2 - 2.5 pools an hour is how we gauge it. 16 - 20 pools a day. We try to be at 16 on route during summer and 20 a day in winter.
