No hacían nada malo. Gracias. Saluti. Salutations. Grübe. Groeten. Regards

The quality of this movie is shown in the fine and thoughtful responses of this online group. The Godfather 3 houses at least, or inspires a very strong discussion & appreciation for the sacrament of confession as a vital part of Christianity... the stuff we're talking about right now is just as real as any Ted Talk you might see on RU-clip or NPR.

(Priest) "You're life will be redeemed". (Michael) "Dafuq"??" Umm, okay?

On occasion, Coppola could hit the right notes in PART III. This is one of those scenes. Michael is not spared as his emotions are finally bared. Usually, when there's an emotionally powerful scene in the Trilogy Nino Rota's score will find its way into the scene somewhere. Not here. All we hear is emptiness, then a lone church bell. Beautifully wrought by Coppola, Pacino and everyone involved.

I love this entire series of films, and while Part 3 was, inarguably, the least impressive of the trilogy, scenes like this one still pack a Hell of a punch. That Cardinal was as real about Michael's sins as a man could be. 'Your sins are terrible, and it is just that you suffer.' I mean, REALLY a gut punch, especially if you're looking at ALL that had gone on before this confession. Stuff Michael denied in Part 2, both to Kay, and the Senate commitee. You really have to take all three films as the complete story behind what happens to Michael. Coppola and Puzo have due credit for creating THE MOST gripping crime drama in film history.

2.27.......'I ordered the death of my brother'. The terrible guilt and pain that has haunted Michael for years has finally been released. At that moment, Michael felt the presence of Jesus in his heart. Many people have said that Godfather 3 was the weak link in this trilogy and I agree.....but this gives me chills.......very moving.

I have just watched a clip of the woman who played the part of Nurse Ratched where she talks about a time during the making of this film, that Jack asked her what her 1st name was,(for the film that is). She states she thought nothing of it. That is until later in the film in the scene where jack walks into the room pretending to be brain-mashed. Jack sits down and she asks him if he is with them. He replies, 'Yes 'Mildred' and she tells how she was completely flustered and states she actually went red faced at his reply seeing it was NOT in the script. (just letting all you Nurse Ratched haters out there know just how good an 'actress' that lady was!
