    Koreans started immigrating to US in early 1970's, mainly to L.A. At that time in Korea, they didn't have meat slicing machines. They butchered meat only with knives. So they couldn't cut kalbi across the ribs, only along the ribs. But they found they could cut across the ribs with the machine. Thus came the name L.A. Kalbi.

    I am a tempura connoisseur and have been for 39 years. I decided that I would make this as my first time cooking tempura when I was 9. I ate it and thought it tasted pretty good. This is the time when the doctor told me I am allergic to tempura. I went out to get a tempura vaccination (surprisingly itโ€™s a real thing) and I was no longer allergic to tempura. I donโ€™t know what about it I was allergic to because itโ€™s just oil but I guess I was allergic to it. Anyways, after 30 years of making and tasting different tempuras, I discovered that this man does not know what tempura is. It is not a way to fry your shrimp, but a way of life, the mind, and h the soul. This is the moment when I realized that it only looks good on the video because it is made out of plastic and h this man eats plastic for a living. Although plastic is pretty good, I would always prefer tempura over it. I donโ€™t think this man knows anything. Everyone knows tempura is a type of octopus. The only way this man is alive is that he really is eating plastic instead of tempura because tempura octopus is poisonous. Overall this dish is not the liquidated, fully, and frolicky taste and texture I was expecting of this dish. In the end, I give this a -9/10. JK itโ€™s actually pretty good 10/10

    i love making fried rice like this! :) with any fried rice i love making a seasoning sauce (usually gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil and oyster sauce). this is so versatile too and you could use any protein. crisping up the rice at the end is sooo good too :) thanks for sharing daniel! love from toronto!

    I have to try this! Persian crispy rice is called Tahdig. The last pieces can lead to fights as its sooooo good. The crispy rice at the bottom of the pot for biriyani is the same. Salivating now!

    How do I get it so that my rice doesn't stick to the pan a lot?? I've tried in cast iron (which was a mistake), and in a nonstick, and it still got stuck ๐Ÿ˜ข

      Hmmm - lower the heat and stir-fry it around frequently. Pat it down into a small layer only at the very end. I think that should help :)
