I am 5' 11" and weigh about 300lbs with calves 23" around do you think I'll fit?

    • Pammie Plus Parks
Pammie Plus Parks 3 hours ago

I think you should try the test seat out front if you dont have Fastpasses. If you are very close to fitting, the ride may work for you. The tester seat is slightly smaller than the actual ride. If you have Fastpasses or less than 30 minute wait for the ride, bypass the tester seat and just head in to give it a try. To better answer some questions you've had about changes RU-clip is making to the ad revenue structure for creators like me .... Recently RU-clip was found in violation of COPPA laws that are designed to protect children from being targeted by advertisers. RU-clip had been using their analytic tools to place ads for children on videos that were made for children -- basically targeting children with ads specifically for them. As a result, RU-clip will be paying a $170 million fine and they will be cracking down on the number and type of ads placed on videos that might appeal to children. The changes to ads will take place in a few months. I am not positive that this channel will be impacted and to what extent if at all. I am bracing myself for it and want you to know that even if the ad revenue is reduced, Mark and I decided we will be able to get me an annual pass for Disney next year. It might be a lower level pass but I will still have access to the parks and will continue to make Disney videos. My pass for Universal Studios expires in June of 2020. By that time RU-clip may have everything sorted out with how they are handling ad revenue and all may be well with this channel. There is no reason to panic at this time but I wanted you to know that I am aware of the possible changes and doing my best to prepare for them. Also, even if things are rough with ad revenue for a bit -- I will still be doing Disney videos and this channel will still be here for you.

When I went in opening day, they had a sample seat outside of the long line which you could "try on" to see if you fit ahead of time. I have a large belly and smaller bust, fairly muscular legs under the padding, and I was just able to fit on it, but the lines were something like six hours so I didn't actually go on the ride. I highly recommend finding that test seat and trying it out!

I definately plan to continue to do Disney content. Even if I have to get a low-level annual pass next year I will still be able to do Disney videos and I can expand coverage of the resorts too. The channel income is what covers the annual passes and equipment upgrades and replacements .... so I will have to tighten up expenditures there. We still don't know how hard RU-clip creators will be impacted so we can't panic, just have to wait and see.

  • Lynn MacDonald
    Lynn MacDonald 5 days ago

Wow. It’s not right that RU-clip breaks the law, gets fined but you have to pay the price for that. Google is one greedy, shady, corrupt company.

    • Pammie Plus Parks
Pammie Plus Parks 3 days ago

Well, they aren't fining us, just being ultra careful to ensure that they aren't collecting information on ads that kids might be watching. Something like 80 percent of parents let kids watch videos while signed on as the parents -- so RU-clip can't rely on age analytics to be sure that kids aren't watching a channel. If a channel does videos about cartoons, candy, video games, toys and theme parks -- they are going to either eliminate ads on those videos/channels or severely limit the number and types of ads run on those videos/channels. I'm hoping that by June of next year things will have shaken out and there will be a better way for RU-clip to ensure channels like mine aren't targeted to children and it's safe to collect viewer data and run viewer targeted ads. Remember -- if RU-clip isn't running ads on a videos, they aren't making money either so it behooves them to figure this all out in the next few months before the rules kick in and refine it within a few months to ensure they can still make money.

    • veryberry39
      veryberry39 4 days ago

I read an article about it, and there are some lawmakers who think that fine wasn't nearly enough. Google makes that amount in less than 2 days, so it's not even a dent to them. It's more like the cost of operation. On the other hand, if they were punished accordingly, imagine how much more they'd punish the content creators. :/ I love RU-clip for giving us a place for great content, but I'm really mad about how they treat the people making videos.

What the heck is youtube doing? They have started messing with alot of peoples channels. Pammie, have much weight have you lost? You look fabulous!

    • Pammie Plus Parks
Pammie Plus Parks 4 days ago

They are trying to make sure they are compliant with COPPA laws. They have to make sure that ads designed to target children aren't placed on videos that appeal to children. So, starting in January RU-clip will restrict which videos can have ads and the types of ads that can run on those videos. They are focusing on videos that are kid friendly. Even though my videos are designed for adults who are planning trips to Disney and Universal -- the content is about theme parks, which happen to appeal to children. It is possible some or all of the videos I post may not be allowed to have ads on them or the number or types of ads may be restricted, meaning that I could lose most of the ad generated income on the videos and thereby compromising my ability to make more videos in the future. However, we are working towards ensuring I can get an annual pass for next year -- maybe a lower level pass but I will still be able to cover all the new rides coming up in the future. I've lost about 40 lbs -- it is coming off slower and I have the occassional set back but as long as I get 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night and am able to keep my stress level lower -- I seem to be slowly but surely taking weight off. Surprising how much stress can contribute to weight gain.

  • GQMofo

Hello Pam, sorry to hear about RU-clip decreasing the ad revenue. Just so I understand, it'll still be status quo on your channel right? Your videos have been EXTREMELY helpful since my girlfriend is an SSBBW herself and I'm taking her to her first Disney World trip in a couple years. Anyway, hopefully any changes to your channel won't be too drastic. :)

    • Pammie Plus Parks
Pammie Plus Parks 5 days ago

My first concentration will be on Disney and Mark and I will make sure I can keep doing Disney, even if it is on a low level pass. Universal and other parks will take a back seat. We aren't going to panic. We have faith that everything happens for a reason and things will sort out for the best.

I just want to say how much I enjoy watching your videos. I bypassed so many rides at Disney World in the past, fearing I would not fit. You make it seem doable to ride everything you want. Pammie Plus Parks Thank you so much for the prompt answer. We are planning a trip in June 2020. I am truly excited because now I know I can ride the attractions I passed up before. You are a blessing.

    • Pammie Plus Parks
Pammie Plus Parks 5 days ago

To my knowledge there are no weight restrictions on any WDW rides. I can attest to being not able to fit within the restraints of Flight of Passage but that is the only ride I am not able to ride. There are people who are heavier than me who have ridden it but their height and/or body shape are different than mine -- it's about weight as much as body shape.

Here is a tip from my experience! I was extremely nervous about fitting (because of my massive calves...I didn't fit on the motorcycle seats for the Tron ride in Shanghai) so I had wrapped my mind around the fact that I may not ride, and I was ok with that. I waited in the queue with my friends, and that was worth it in itself, very detailed. I am 5'10" tall and weigh 300 lbs (with a lot of muscle). I am very proportionate and therefore I don't have a large belly, everything is equal. My right calf (the large of the two) measures at 22 inches. I didn't try the test seat since it is supposed to be a bit smaller anyway. I followed the advice and pushed myself all the way into the seat and waited until the cast member was going to initiate the restraints and I got on my tippy toes (even at 5'10" I was able to go on my tip toes). This allowed the ride to lock into place without the cast member even needing to push on the back!! I was ecstatic! I had a decent amount of room around my belly to move around, the legs were tight but not painful. I was just so excited for the win of being able to ride this, and without any extra assistance. I honestly probably could have not gone on my tip toes, but that is a great tip if you are worried about fitting. It is a great ride and I hope you can make it on!

Pammie Plus Parks 10 days ago

Mark and I used to see him all the time in the parks before I was a vlogger. He was recognizable by his mustache. We kept wondering why we kept seeing this guy all the time -- I had no idea Disney vlogging was a thing and had never seen any of his videos before. Once I started making videos I began to do some research to see if anyone else was making Disney videos and that's when I discovered TheTimTracker. I cracked up because I finally realized why I kept seeing this guy around the parks all the time. After that I didn't see him for ages and ages then I ran into him at a passholder event and quickly said hello. He was very nice to me. A couple of months ago Mark and I were at Magic Kingdom and he was behind us in line for the Peoplemover -- I did not say hello to him because Mark and I were celebrating our anniversary and it wasn't appropriate. I was there to spend the day with my husband and it didn't feel right to engage in conversation with a fellow vlogger while on a date with my husband. However, we do appear in a tiny snippet of the video he was doing that day as he took a quick shot of the queue for the Peoplemover.

Thank you for this video. Because of it, I insisted we try the tester seats. I am 5'4" and roughly 230. I was able to fit on Hagrids (sidecar). My husband is 6 ft, and over 250. He said the Hagrid ride was a little tight but he got the green light too. We both got pulled out right before we got on so they could see the green light on tester seat, although we had already tried and gotten the green light outside. My husband said if he were any taller or even 5 pounds heavier, he would not have been able to ride. I was grateful I made us try it in advance, because that would have been humiliating to get that far and not get to go.

Pammie Plus Parks thanks! Yeah I was able to stand and buckle on pilot and gunner and engineer was a bit harder. I am about 410lbs

I have also heard that the Pilot seat belts were shorter. I personally could not tell the difference between any of the belts on any of the seats. I found them all to be pretty generous. I was at Galaxy's Edge today and spoke with someone who weighed about 450 lbs who sat in the pilot's seat and they had no issues.

I tell people all the time that Disney is well equipped to deal with plus size people, so give it a shot before writing it off. Great job!! 💛💛

You looked great in everything, that 40’s top is awesome on you! I know just what you mean about the purple top- if you’re not comfortable wearing it, it doesn’t matter how great you look to someone else. Love the Dia & Co unboxing vids, when I unpack mine I pretend I am doing a video too (don’t tell anyone)

Pretty disappointing. It's just another Star Tours, you just get to push a few buttons or pull some levers if you get to be a pilot. Not even a ride, just another simulator.

@Pammie Plus Parks Hi Pammie! Thanks for the like. I rode it last Saturday, it's not a bad experience at all but I don't find it to be that exciting. Hopefully Rise of the resistance will be better, although I don't know when I'll be able to try it. My annual pass expires today and I can't renew this time.😭 At least I got to go on Saturday and check out Galaxy's Edge, I also watched IllumiNations one last time, that's my all time favorite show and I'm sad to see it go.

Pammie Plus Parks 16 days ago

Sorry to hear you say that. I found it to be far more immersive than Star Tours. I loved the feeling of stepping into the cockpit that I'd been watching in the films for decades. To me, it was an amazing experience and felt like my childhood dreams came true.

Very honest and informative video. When I was in Disney village in Disneyland Paris shopping there are some sale/clearance areas in the regular stores, is it similar I'm Disney springs or anywhere in WDW?

I have personally never seen anything on sale or discounted in the parks or at Disney Springs. Maybe the non Disney shops at Disney Springs run sales but to my knowledge, the Disney shops do not. I believe all sale merch goes to the outlet stores or their employee store.

What I was also thinking for the Green dress would be a green bow or ribbon and like a light green long sleeved top under it and you could be Belle when Beast shows her the library :) I love those skater style dresses, I own a tonne like that because they're comfy, but also the style is flattering and you can dress them up! The blouse could also be combined to give a lilo and stitch inspired look with that blue colour

I made this video about 2 years ago and since then have seen even more plus sizes in all the parks gift shops. Disney continues to become more and more inclusive.

Here is a link to the Universal Studios Orlando official website that provides information on hearing disabilities. They have a number of options that you will find useful. Pammie you are spot on with regard to the U shaped restraining bar. I’m a 6’ male weighing 327 lbs and while I did in fact fit in the seat there was no way to get both my legs inside that bar. I did have to have one of my knees crushed beneath the bar and that made the ride extremely uncomfortable and long. Instead of enjoying it I was counting the seconds until I could free that knee. And you’re right. There’s no way around it. Thanks for these vids. You’re performing an invaluable service.

Thank you so much for watching! I feel like this ride could be a thousand percent better if the lap bar was open on one side to be more accomodating -- like Slinky Dog Dash. I think they learned from this coaster and that's why SDD is so much more size and ability friendly. I am keeping my fingers crossed that when they do the big 5 year refurb of this ride they will change out the lap bars for ones similar to SDD.

I'm literally almost in tears at 10:00. My husband has neurocardiogenic syncope and his one major trigger is photosensitivity (i.e. strobe lights). I always have to be the tester for a ride first and let him know if it's okay to ride. You guys are amazing, thank you so much for all you do.

I know this means your husband probably won't do this ride and I feel bad about that, but if we can help you plan your trip better and let you know what to expect so you can make decisions before your trip, then I am glad to help.

Just come across your channel by accident. I am a larger older english lady planning my first solo trip to Florida next September. What a refreshing channel looking at things from a different point of view. I have in the past missed rides cause I have just been afraid of showing myself up getting onto rides. Thankyou for all your tips, I have subscribed and looking forward to seeing more of your videos x

Because I live 2 hours away I just drive up each day and have never stayed on property so I don't have any real info to share. I would urge you hire a Travel Agent or book your vacation through Disney then compare pricing to see which deals work best for you.

Love the color of the purple top, but I did find myself focusing on the shadow around your tummy. I’m the same way I like flowing tops that fit loose. I got a Haunted Mansion feel from the green dress and black cardigan. Let me tell you, you are so darn photogenic 💞
